I've got outdoor activities planned this weekend. My 12-year old (soon to be a teenager next month) is supposed to be some type of female Cal Ripken, Jr.!!! She plays a mean 3rd base and is quite a hitter and baserunner. I'm helping her team out in a "baseball" (not softball) tournament tomorrow. I'm playing 3rd base coach. The weather is supposed to be picture-perfect

Gosh..... I love Baseball!!! Sadly it is not a sport widely practiced here in the UK, but it's quite popular in Italy, where they had a proper League since the late '40s.

There is even a Baseball field near Rimini Airport, and I can see the diamond shaped field from the plane.... when I am landing!!!

I promised myself that the next time I travel to the US I will definitely try to see a game..... somewhere!!

Come to the U.S. -- specifically the Metropolitan Washington, D.C. area. We have lots, and lots of clubs -- National, Orioles, Phillies, Pirates -- 3 hrs up the road are the Mets, Yankees (who am I missing?? Maybe the Indians??). We've got you covered!!!

What colours are you partial to?? My advice would be to stick with your strengths. If you want to try something different, try a different hue/contrast on your favorite color -- if you go with a totally different color entirely, you may not be as happy with the results a little time later. Or try stenciling!! Or a wall-paper border -- or maybe even attach a wood border on the top or bottom or both top and bottom and stain the wood. I'm not a decorator -- A person just told me that one little change in a room makes a huge difference. Kinda like, less is more. Just foods for thought. In my case specifically, the smaller the project, the more manageable and more likely I will actually do it.

Well...... I always go for neutral warm colours, because my apartment is very small so dark colours would make the place feel smaller and I would feel claustrophobic. I also have natural wooden furniture.... not dark ..... but the wood colour is fairly deep, so I have to have light walls for contrast.

In general I prefer very natural/warm neutral colours..... which for me are more conducive to relaxation and calm, so I am going to stick with that. The colour I picked is called "Bleached Lichen" which of course means nothing.... as you really have to see it applied on the wall to really understand what is like.

The good news is I managed to find the exact colour I was looking for on line this afternoon, so I don't have to traipse all the way to the DIY store and kill myself carrying litres and litres of paint home. Hopefully it should be delivered next week, so I can start painting a.s.a.p.

You Go Girl !!! Unlike Lorelai, painting is not a favorite hobby of mine. However, if I were painting the walls for Luke Danes........

Who are you missing? THE BOSTON REDSOX! I mean really SPA! Lua, if you want to see a game up-close and personal in a real ballpark, you've got to go to Fenway. Of course, if you want to sip lattes and go mall shopping, go to the new Yankee Stadium. Hope you like the color blue though, I heard one can almost be blinded by the sheer number of fancy, padded, empty seats:

TV shows deep-seated troubles at new Yankee Stadium, Citi Field

You should really check out Fenway Park sometime. One caveat: The Red Sox have sold out every home game since May 15th 2003--an MLB record. BTW, I'm pulling an all nighter tonight to see the Red Sox play the Yankees for the first time this season. If Joba throws anywhere near Youk's head, there's going to be hell to pay.

What an evil way to sniff you out, NoGods!! My evil plan worked!!!!

Nah, I was thinking about the BoSox, but thought that the ride might be too long/expensive, etc. I was just listing teams in driving distance from DC. But if were traveling and stadium shuffling -- the Green Monster is definitely something that needs to be experienced. Oh yeah. I adore Boston markets and restaurants. Can't get any better, anywhere.

I'm not so sure I'm interested in the "new and improved" Yankee Stadium -- too much Steinbrenner in it, you know???

Hee, hee...if anything (other than Scott news) can lure me out of my cave, that's it!

Here's a picture of the Sox in sold-out Fenway from their last game:

They're wearing their Earth Day uniforms.

This just in: There is much joy in Mudville, for the mighty Youk has hit an 11th inning walkoff homerun to defeat the Spankees. Woo hoo! Now the fact that I have to catch an early train to Vienna on 2 hours sleep to chaperone a bunch of middle schoolers for a volleyball tournament doesn't seem so bad!

Okay, was that your phrase?? Or were you spurred on by others. I have a t-shirt that reads: I root for two teams: The Dodgers and whoever is playing the Yankees!! And since about last year, I've been using the same moniker!! Go BoSox!! Was Sabathia pitching??

Indoor volleyball or outdoor? I wanna go to Vienna!!! They got great food!!

beautiful day. Sun, sun, sun. I was in the stadium (soccer). Unfortunately, we have lost this game.
However. A day to enjoy.

I hope, everyone have a great weekend.

Watched my niece play baseball today -- I'm very impressed. Seems as though not all the girls came out to play -- their bats weren't working and were eliminated early -- she's not a happy camper at the moment. I guess she gets losing etiquette for me (gosh I hope not) -- not even ice cream could sedate her. I just counseled "Wait til next time -- New game, new winner."

I hope everyone is enjoying this blessed weather!!!

Boy, it's way too quiet here. Everyone must be enjoying the summer-like weather in the mid-spring.
