I guess it is not surprising this thread died after 2 entries. While the server crash may have had something to do with that, I think the utter lack of interaction between Luke and Rory throughout the entire sixth season is the main culprit. Seriously, in 22 episodes I think they had about half a dozen scenes together.

1) engagement reveal
2) 21st birthday (phone convo and a couple encounters at the party)
3) morning after Lorelai & Rory reconcile
4) Thanksgiving (did they even talk to each other?)
5) Jess' book launch-thingy
6) ???

Please tell me I am forgetting some. At least 1?

They did talk at Thanksgiving. And there was a quick thing in... can't remember the episode when he said he was making her smores. Oh it was I'm Okay, You're Okay.

Otherwise... I'm stumped. Course that could also be cuz there was an utter lack of Lorelai/Rory scenes even after the fight, all they did was randomly talk on the phone. When Lorelai and Luke went to see E/R, Rory wasn't even there and vice versa.

There seems to be a lot of "if Rory is there, then Luke is not" and vice versa. Same thing happened in YJIJJ when Luke went to dinner after Emily found out about Lorelai dating him.

While I realize Lorelai and Rory needed to reconnect with each other alone (that sounds weird but I cannot think of a better phrasing), I wish we had been shown them including him in something. I was going to mention Rory's panel discussion but then it got so complicated trying to include all the reasons why Luke should or should not have been invited I gave up. Suffice it to say I wish there had been a comment about whether or not he had been invited and if invited, why he declined.

I seem to be doing a lot of wishing lately...

Eta - I found them, they have old scenes in them, maybe someone could come up with a new one with scenes from season 5 and 6 in it?

They were sitting next to each other at Thanksgiving and she teased him about Liz calling him a name. I can't remember what it was though.

When Rory and Lorelai got back from their trip and they were telling him all the things that happened.

I do think it was great that he gave her his mothers pearls, i really want to see her wear them.

Then Luke can look all proud.

Not sure this qualifies as making something special for Rory, but in one of the early episodes at Yale, Lorelai brought some muffins to the dorn that Luke sent with her.

Also, odds are that at least one of the bookcases in Rory's room was the handiwork of Luke. Of course, it was probably on an insanely long list created by Lorelai on one of her birthdays, but in my mind, he added special touches just for Rory.

I loved that Luke sent her muffins for Rory. It's so dad like.

I really love when she told Jess off becuase the whole town was on Luke's case about him, saw that scene the other day.

I am really sorry that Luke isn't going to be Rory's stepdad anymore. It seemed like they were both kinda looking forward to it.
