I won't comment on "it was about nothing" cause Lauren said she doesn't watch herself/the show, so I'm hoping that's why. haha

But i'd totally go for a book or a movie as long as it's not saw!

Thanks for posting that Susi!

I am also not commenting about the "it's about nothing" ()

That is indeed (I hope) a comment she made, because she doesn't watch her own show(s). The movie could be about so many unfinished things...

Even if she doesn't watch it.. she shoot her own scenes and knew what's going on.
I think it's a little mean to say that the show is about nothing, so what does that say about us because we've been watching it for 7 years?

I wouldn't read too much into what Lauren said, IMO she only meant it wasn't like other show like cop shows or SciFi where they have a certain theme. Gilmore was about a mother daughter team that was it, may that was the theme but again don't let what Lauren said get too you all.

Does that make sense?

I guess it does kinda

But still Gilmore Gilrs had a storyline, it wans't about nothing. It was about the lifes of the Gilmores, Luke Danes and all the other crazy townspeople.
So it was about a whole lot of something...

I wasn't going to responde

ASP is a packrat? Is that something she confessed about herself?

I thought Lauren's comment about GG meant that it wasn't plot driven. I kind of see her point about a GG movie too, because where would they go from the end of S7? Luke and Lorelai's wedding? I wonder if ASP ever had any intentions of going down that path - plus, if Luke is going to turn into Gary in 10 years, then I don't want L&L to be married. Kidding of course. I think.

Someone (SPA?) a few pages back mentioned the WB using Stars Hollow for some other show -- I don't know if anyone has watched Sarah Connor Chronicles, but they have done just that. They're using the outside of Lorelai's house, the front yard and her garage, the inside of Sookie's, the BWR, the carport, Kim's Antiques, Doose's market, Lane's apartment, the church, and all over town. The show uses a lot of close ups, so if you didn't know you might not catch it, but Stars Hollow is very recognizable if you are looking for it .

ETA: Chuck used the gazebo, and I think Pushing Daisies did too. Stars Hollow has been taken over.

This is where Amy's comments are mixed. On one hand she wants to do a movie but then she says she hasn't seen the last 22 eps, so how can she plan a movie without knowing where they are now?

Unless she wants to forget the last season and make a movie about L&L getting back together, different from the final season?

I forgot about Sarah Connor Chronicles, so in the final was that the CS shed, need to check that out again!

I did notice the very last scene was the street where Dean lived outside his house I think.

Pushing Daisies I notice the gazebo but not on Chuck, but I'm a couple of eps behind in that show still.

I'm sure when (yes I have hope) they decide to do a Gilmore movie then they'll organise to have 'Stars Hollow" return to it's former glory.

Couldn't agree more.

I saw the pics a few days after the announcement was made about the cancellation and the set was all empty and torn down.

It will be easy for them to turn the town into Stars Hollow again though, so don't let that depress you! They didn't get rid of much - they saved the signs and most of the props and the buildings just need the right color of paint and Stars Hollow is back. I think Luke's cash register is in the diner on Pushing Daisies now. It was partially covered when I saw it, but it sure looked the same to me. Easy enough to get it back when needed though.

After all, it's Hollywood. What really fascinated me was how quickly the crew can transform a set. Literally overnight. When we visited Stars Hallow, especially Luke's Diner. It was a mess -- dirty floors and walls and doors. However, in every episode it looked clean -- eat off the floors (except the skid marks of Kirk's joy ride). So, they could get Stars Hallow up to snuff in no time. No worries.

If Amy's working on a script, she's doing it quietly. No news out there on the net yet. And if Scott and Lauren and Alexis are currently looking for work.... the time may be right for this fall. Sooner is better than later.

Yeah almost as the official word came down about no S8 they were taking down the sets but IMO they can get them up just a quick for any movie, and if some time has past, even just 1-2 years then it makes it easier 'cause they have an excuse why some things might not be the same.

It takes a lot of prep for the script and cast to be ready, we know Scott, Lauren and Alexis all have work currently, not to mention Matt and others so I'd guess when things get moving Amy will give them time to clear a few weeks, a TV movie souldn't take more than 2-4 weeks to shoot once everything is in place.

Actually the sets on Gilmore were intentionally made to look worn down and old. It's so that when it is seen on TV it doesn't look fake and cartoon-ish. Luke's was never spruced up or cleaned before filming, other than to remove any trash the crew members may have left behind. What you saw on tours is exactly what was seen on TV. You might not know it, but that is the magic of Hollywood. It was supposed to look and feel like a real working diner. The Twickham House, Mrs. Kim's and even the church were also painted to look old or rusted for those same reasons.

I suppose so. The place was pretty filthy. All the GG episodes I've watched regarding Luke's diner -- people were eating real food -- let's just say it was really a mess and didn't smell clean either. If I were working there under hot lights for 12-15 hours, I would at least like it clean -- as shown in the episodes, if I'm to eat real food in there. It didn't look filthy durng the GG episodes -- old and used, I'll grant you, but definately cleaner than when I visited it on the WB Tours.

I just checked. I couldn't find any new news on Amy and a GG movie. There's nothing new out there as of now. I'm hoping for somethng soon. It takes a little time to get thngs started -- how much time I wonder?

And that is the magic of lighting. It was dark and dingy when guides showed the diner off during tours, but I guarantee that what you saw during them is what you were seeing on film as well. They did occasionally clean up the mess in kitchen if it was going to be in a scene (the crew liked to use the sink to throw the remains of their lunch in it), but they never thoroughly cleaned the place. It was very 'what you see is what you get.' The only things that might have been extra clean would be the tables and counter. And that would only be because Luke spent so much time wiping them down. Also, the food served up during filming was always served on clean dishes and would usually be fresh food (especially if the actors were meant to be eating it).

And don't expect to hear anything about a movie until Jezebel James is over and done with or the movie is actually in production. You won't find any information by doing google searches or the like.
