I didn't watch the first half of the season on reruns over the summer....I waited until 7.15 aired.

Yeah, I know, I don't know if I will watch much of the 1st half of Season 7, I do want to see the few scenes where L&L interact, and I love it when Luke and Chris fight. I love seeing Luke beating up on Chris!

I love this scene. Although we didn't get to see the necklace exchange or more bonding, it was letting us know they do get back together. We NEED more!

I was hoping we got to see Luke giving her the necklache, but I knew we might not get it. We've never seen anything like that. Same with the ring...

Of course I hated the fact that L&L weren't together, but I did enjoy some episodes in the first half. SOmetimes it was irritating ti watch Lauren/Lorelai, she was so different in scenes with David/Chris...

But watching rereuns from s7, I don't think I'll be wachting a lot of the first half

I guess I miss them to much...

The W channel in canada has been airing season 7 a lot but its promo that gets me. It starts with 720 and the karaoke throws in hale bale maze and a lot of stuff from the finale. Its like they were trying to edit out the non ll parts

I actually like everything post 707.

There are still a few good scenes in the first half, I don't know excatly where I start really liking S7 again...

I liked 7.01 and 7.02. Of course, it was not the beginning of the season I wanted or was expecting (I wanted more emotion on Lorelai's part. She seemed to move on too quickly), but I liked it, especially Luke's speech at the end of TLM and the two LL scenes in 7.02. So, my expectations for season 7 were good, because I thought it had a good start. But then it just went downhill. There was too much LC. And there was almost nothing to make it up for it. No townies, no ER, and only glimpses of Luke. Actually the first episode that I really enjoyed (doesn't mean that the other ones before that one were that bad) was 7.19. It's my favorite episode of the season. And seeing LL interact again like old times, their banter, their amazing chemistry was ..

I loved it so much. I felt that my show was finally back. I loved the whole episode. Not only the LL parts. There was finally balance, IMO. Rory's scenes with Paris were great too. But then it ended when they finally were getting the hang of it. And so it felt like we had endured everything for nothing. No pay off in the end. Just a kiss. No talk. Scott is totally right when he says they tried to leave the impression that LL were together but they weren't very successful. yeah, we know they're together. The looks they exchanged the next morning and Lorelai's smile while touching the necklace and looking at Luke (

) kinda showed that. But still it wasn't enough. That's why I end up feeling that season 7 was worse than maybe in fact really was.

I think 7.19 is my favorite too (though there is a lot to like in 7.22, given the way they wasted almost all of S7, L/L-wise). LG's Karaoke number makes me cry every time. But the "misunderstanding" that ensued makes me want to rant louder and more vituperatively than Luke ever did! Like we needed one more obstacle to L/L with only 3 shows to go!

Gotta give honorable mention to Go Bulldogs! even though there's no way Luke grew up in NW Connecticut without learning how to swim - tons of lakes; he's an athlete, and his Dad owned a boat!! (pet peeve ... I'm familiar with the area). Still, it's a perfect instance of "every cloud has a silver lining" ... if it weren't for David Rosenthal + team, we might never have had "the swimming lesson."

I just rewatched KnitPeopleKnit! Been meaning to see it again, having learned on this forum that Scott made it possible for Emily Garcia to appear in the episode as an extra. [She's a teenager with cancer of whom he's been fantastically thoughtful and supportive. The only way he could top that sort of kindness = Babe Ruth/Lou Gehrig hitting home runs for a sick kid in "Pride of the Yankees" (based on real life, I think; sorta!)]

I definitely saw Emily! As Lorelai and Christopher arrive and sit with Babette and Miss Patty, you can see her knitting while sitting on the edge (or just along side) of the gazebo. She has blonde hair and a very sweet smile. Episode is great and terrible at once. "Real" Luke would've seen that Lorelai was not happy with postponing the wedding and would've changed his mind within 24 hours (max!) Makes me want to rant even more! Still many favorites in this ep.- Luke holding brand new baby niece, Doula! (Real baby too, not just a bundle!) Best of all: when Luke confronts Anna, telling her that she made a "lousy decision" not to tell him he had a daughter, that he'd missed her as newly born, her first steps, etc., and that as April's father, he has rights too ... "and I will fight you if I have to!" I thought SP's acting was superb. Biased but still v. seriously - IMHO it's some of his best dramatic acting in all 7 years of GG. I think he deserved not only an Emmy nom. but an Emmy win for best leading actor in a drama. I thought it when I first saw the ep. ... and I had the exact same feeling watching it this eve. Actually I feel the same way about LG's karaoke performance (ref. above). In both cases, TV doesn't get better than that!
