| Oh you know that Gary's been on the ole computer looking at racks and I'm not talking shoe racks. Maybe Green Bay Packer Cheerleaders. __________________ Avi by:Duke Proud Member of Scott Patterson's Fan Forum![]() 2009: The Place to Discuss all things Scott | |||

I am sure that's how they fell in love. Wasn't Franny the popular one in high school, maybe even a cheerleader, and he was a jock. And then he knocked her up. ![]() __________________ Spoiler Free is the way to be!!

I mean I'm assuming she wasn't UNpopular seeing as she and Gary dated and Gary was a jock. But have we really gotten anything specific on the show that would indicate that?

| I'm not sure about Franny's popularity but I am sure that Gary looked very guilty when they were taking the family computer. I also think he look proud when Justin said what he was looking at. | Was it said that what age they were when Frannie got knocked up? Were she and Gary were still in high school? I did not think they were in high school when they got pregnant and married. Claire could only be somewhere in between 16-18 years old, therefore, as good as Scott looks, I am not sure they are assuming he is at most 36 years old! __________________ Luke: Will you marry me? | Since Justin is a Junior and is the eldest he's 16 or 17 years old and if they had to get married because she was pregnant they're been married around 17 ot 18 years. So I would think they may have dated though high school but I agree I don't think she got pregnant then. In the flashback they looked like they were supposed to be in their 20's. Yes they are pushing the envelop with Scott's age but Amy is I believe 38 or so, so it works for her. __________________ Avi by:Duke Proud Member of Scott Patterson's Fan Forum![]() 2009: The Place to Discuss all things Scott | |||

Thank goodness Scott doesn't look his age. I mean, can anyone say that he truly looks like he's 50?? The man is timeless, isn't he?? __________________ avi by revenb Come Visit: Scott Patterson!! | I thought Claire was older than Justin. Hmm. You learn something new everyday! ![]() Maybe Gary and Frannie knew each other when they were growing up but he was still a few years older than her. He could have been friends with an older brother of hers or something like that. __________________ Luke: Will you marry me? I saw Dan Byrd in Lonely Hearts with John Travolta. He did a great job there, even though he had a very small part. __________________ Spoiler Free is the way to be!!

Since there are millions of sites with "racks" (+ other special areas!), Gary couldn't possibly visit the same one as his son, but it was apparent he's visited similar ones when he freaked about his computer being confiscated by the police. I thought that whole sequence was hysterical ... made points about boys, men, the stuff all men do (and don't tell their wives) - with or without the net ... and they still made their point about privacy. They presented the male issues explicitly, humorously, and gently ... not in bad taste IMHO. (And all the while, spoofed Raja as a terrorist threat.) As for Gary ... I heard each episode is standalone so he may not get busted by Franny (no pun intended!) - but if he does, look out!!!!! Her character is a "piece of work!" I've seen fantastic critical reviews all over the place. (Googled "Aliens in America".) LA Times, NY Times, .... National Public Radio NPR : National Public Radio : News & Analysis, World, US, Music & Arts - has done 4 separate pieces about the show since Oct. 1 and published a 5th piece - an essay on AIA by a prominent Muslim American anti-discrimination activist on their website, which was very positive. There have been academic seminars. Media pundits/critics and Muslim-Americans are praising the show. It's been likened to "All in the Family" as far as groundbreaking. Even if it was pre-emptive vs. writers' strike, ordering the 3 more scripts is a very positive sign. It greatly increases the likelihood of a full first season. The ratings aren't great, and they lose some Everybody Loves Chris viewers, but as far as street cred the CW would be toast if they didn't give this show a chance. It's gotten way too much serious, good press. I also question the time slot, SPA. Esp. vs. Dancing with the Stars, sad to say. The good(-ish) news: Since Monday nights are historically football nights, I've nicknamed CBS line-up "misogynist Mondays." I don't think those sitcoms are funny even if they're popular --> Aliens is an opportunity for smarter and/or less testosterone-laden viewers to relax and watch a quick, funny, smart show. My questioning of the time slot is that the other 3 CW sitcoms that "bookend" Aliens are aimed primarily at their African American audiences. If they're not familiar with the show, people initially see a mostly white family (very!) in Wisconsin. I heard they're going to start publishing adjusted ratings (for all TV shows) that include DVR recordings. The major networks have started to insist upon it - because their ratings aren't so hot, either. Haven't searched yet, but that could make Aliens ratings look brighter. I hope! Music news - "What's so funny about peace love and understanding" is supposed to be avail. on i-tunes, as well as a full album by the writer/performers just out this week - called "American Scream." I like the full song. Spoiler:

| KbatMO thanks for all that, I was hoping Gary would play a bigger part, maybe this is where he starts his own business? __________________ Mythbusters - "I reject your reality and substitute my own."
