If these critics are good at their craft, shouldn't they know how good he is before making such inane comments and questions?

I guess it's another job for us to "educate" them. How I loathe critics.

I guess they never watched Gilmore Girls either, cause they would know that he can act no matter what the role is.

I have always been curious as to how one becomes a critic? because really.. some of them appears to have no clue as to how to behave and respect others nor do they seem to realize that people like very different things and just because some viewers like certain shows does not make them any less of a person. But I guess thats a whole other story. Clearly the people who gave him the role believes in Scott and that's really all that matters. The rest is for him to prove and we all know that he is capable of anything he sets his mind on.

A casting producer (if it is called that) doesn't know what he is doing

I agree, I think the critics think they are all knowing. Their taste can be very different from mine. That is why I never listen to them. I judge a movie or TV show by watching it not what the critics say. We know Scott can pull off any emotion now he will be able to show the critics the same thing.

From what I saw of the original father -- on that CW preview of the show -- yes, he was enjoyably nerdy [the alpaca thing, for one]. But funny? Like really funny? I'm not ripping on the actor, but Amy Pietz [the actress who plays the mother (and who I fondly remember from my guilty television pleasure, Caroline In The City)] is the funny one. You almost forget he's there when she's in a scene. So I understand the creators/producers wanting to go with maybe a stronger personality.

That being said, it's unfair of critics to assume SP can't do funny. He wasn't given much of an opportunity to do so on GG -- Luke was the straight man to Lorelai's funny man [well, woman]. He had his moments, though.

Didn't they do a promo shoot for AiA yesterday?
Let's keep our eyes open for new AIA pics and hopefully they will change the pic on their site, man how terrible is that

TVGuide had the photoshoot on Sunday. I'm not sure if it's for their website or the magazine or both. I was hoping for an MA interview with Scott. Alas. So, hopefully, sometime in August we will see some actual group photos.

Oh right the photo shoot for CW was scheduled for Saturday.

Let's hope the TV Guide shoot is for both, so people not from the US can also enjoy

An interview with MA would have been great, but maybe Scott is too busy at the moment and when he is settled we'll get what we want
