I just received an e-mail that Sunday, July 6th will be airing "Wake at the Lake", which is the next to last episode of the Series. If the last episode is aired on July 13th -- there is no news yet if the last 7 weeks of the summer (ending on the last day of August) will be reruns of Aliens episodes.

That's all I know now. Pitiful, isn't it??!!!??

Well, according to the commercials they suddenly started airing, AiA is one of the funniest and highest rated shows in 2008.

Funny, they promote it now.

I'd say it sad not funny, why didn't they promote it more in the last 6 months?

They could have had them on talk and morning shows and other promotions but nothing that I've read about, which is hard to follow since I'm not in the US.

And why would CW start any type of promotion now. ???

I haven't seen anything about a possible DVD release for AiA. Is it possible that the promotion now is aimed at testing the response for a DVD release?? Or is the CW just not that bright?

Maybe it's not actually canceled?

I'm sorry for double posting, but this had to be done...

So my friend decided to start watching AiA today and he was laughing about how the parents are so weird. And I told him that it's weird to see Scott so un-Luke like and he freaked cause he didn't think that this person could possibly be Scott playing the dad.

Well, he decided to screencap it cause he thought it looked so odd. Maybe i'm late to this party but was there an unaired episode that didn't have Scott cause this guy is certainly not our man!

Razzle, that's Patrick Breen. He was the original dad. I believe he filmed only the pilot episode. Scott replaced him shortly after the series was picked up. It seems that they wanted to emphasize the contrast more between the father and son. I can't imagine there would be a lot of chemistry between Gary & Franny with Patrick Breen in the role.

The cap should have "preair" in the title.

I don't know if the show would have been better or worse without Scott, it would have been different though.

Again, Aliens, nor Amy, nor Scott can cop a break. Here's the link for the article:

Quote:
Secret Emmy judge No. 1 gives us his predix for Top 10s and noms
CORRECTION (6/28): Turns out that I misunderstood the email I received from Secret Emmy Judge No. 1. These rankings are not his predix. They're his actual votes that he was sharing with me. Well, at least there's one thing you can divulge from that disclosure. Yes, he's a member of the acting branch.

Remember the secret Emmy judges who bravely stepped forward last year to tattle to us on the Top 10 finalists? The first to do so — and the judge who turned out to have the most valuable info overall — gave me his early Emmy predix last week. I had hoped to have these posted prior to the TV academy announcing the Top 10s for best drama and comedy series, but Emmy chiefs were so excited about the finalist lists that they rushed to disclose them today. Ah, well, now you see how he did in those two top races. Below, he predicts Top 10s in the categories that have run-offs and the five noms in races that don't have an interim voting stage with finalists.

* = Not in the final top 10 contenders announced by the TV academy

BEST COMEDY SERIES:
"Californication" *
"Curb Your Enthusiasm"
"Desperate Housewives" *
"Entourage"
"Pushing Daisies"
"Samantha Who?" *
"30 Rock"
"Two and a Half Men"
"Ugly Betty"
"Weeds"

BEST SUPPORTING COMEDY ACTRESS:
Kristin Chenoweth, "Pushing Daisies"
Dana Delany, "Desperate Housewives"
Cheryl Hines, "Curb Your Enthusiasm"
Jane Krakowski, "30 Rock"
Judith Light, "Ugly Betty"
Becki Newton, "Ugly Betty"
Elizabeth Perkins, "Weeds"
Jaime Pressly, "My Name is Earl"
Jean Smart, "Samantha Who?"
Vanessa Williams, "Ugly Betty"

BEST SUPPORTING COMEDY ACTOR:
Jon Cryer, "Two and a Half Men"
Kevin Dillon, "Entourage"
Jerry Ferrara, "Entourage"
Justin Kirk, "Weeds"
Jack McBrayer, "30 Rock"
Chi McBride, "Pushing Daisies"
Tracy Morgan, "30 Rock"
Jeremy Piven, "Entourage"
Michael Urie, "Ugly Betty"
Rainn Wilson, "The Office"

Back-to-Back posts -- I apologize - couldn't be helped.

I received an e-mail today on the Aliens schedule for the month of July:

6th: Wake at the Lake (Eppy 17)
13th: Raja at 16 (Final Eppy of the Series)
20th: Rocket Club (Eppy 3)
27th: The Metamorphosis (Eppy 4)

I guess we should be grateful, huh (snark, snark)

Sorry for the double-posting on this thread, however they are two weeks apart. Here is news of the upcoming Emmys. Interesting article about who made it and who was snubbed -- and it seems that cable series are taking over -- maybe a venue for Scott's work, either in front of -- or behind the camera???

Emmy Nominations Announced

Early this morning the official nominees for the 60th Annual Emmy Awards were announced and cable dominated the competition. New shows like Damages, Mad Men and Dexter entered the major races while old favorites like Grey's Anatomy and Ugly Betty were left out of the Drama and Comedy Series categories. Lost fans have plenty to be excited about as the ABC drama made its triumphant return to the Drama Series lineup for the first time since winning in its first year. As expected, Michael Emerson also picked up a nomination.

Here is the link to the official emmy nominations. And here is the list below:

REALITY HOST:

I guess we now know why Aliens wasn't in the mix. Of course, the show being on the CW in the first place, brought it to the plate with 2 strikes on it automatically. Stupid network.
