Boy, Aliens didn't stay on UHD for very long -- just one round of the series and then ---- that's all folks. Hopefully it will re-run again (hope so)

BTW Aliens aired her for the first time last Sunday (only 2 years late!) and even thought I have a copy I recorded it, nice to see the show again.

I wonder -- is the timing like that for other shows too?? I mean, given the state of shows that air on the major networks and cable -- GG didn't have the numbers the same as them; but the numbers were high for a small network, which is what I guess gave it leverage to be shown world-wide. I mean, Trueblood is a new(ish) series -- is that show getting shown worldwide faster than GG; and of course as we know, at lightning speed compared to Aliens.

Depends on a number of things, the 'buzz' the show is getting, if there is a big name cast/star and who gets the rights to it.

We now have a lot of new content going to PayTV (cable) which is good for those of us with it, only some 25% in Australia have PayTV. The Torchwood special recently aired here just hours after the UK. NCIS and House comes out here only a week or so after the US. As for Trueblood S1 has aired and S2 is starting soon. But on the other side GG is still yet to finish it's final season in some cities

And some shows that fail in the US like The Unusuals (which I like) may never air here or be put on in the early hours to fill time with no promoting is it a wonder no one will hear about it!

This is the reason we have one the highest use of downloads for this kid of stuff in the world. Over the years we have become jaded and we don't know when or if a show will air here. Also some shows that start out hot and then cool of or don't rate here are taken off and the next season may not return or be put later and later in to the night, if it comes back. Lost, Heroes and Prison Break are classic examples, each stating at a normal time but the series final of Prison Break aired from around 11:30pm.

Fans want to talk online about them, that can't stay up that late because of work or school and we don't want to wait weeks, month or years later for them to come on. Often long after the DVDs are out in the US.

I know -- Franny using that "potato masher" (wink winkers) to make mashed potatoes almost looked a little too sexual! And Gary's response to a taste: "Ummmm, Fluffy" -- Whoa!!!!

Yes nice to see it again and on a proper TV just a pity it's unlikely to stay around now all 18 eps have aired.

I really hope Scott can get on to a new show (drama or sitcom) that lasts or maybe join a current top rated show to lift his profile?

I'm thinking something masculine -- non-romantic-related. I'm not sure he's going in that direction now -- reaching for a male fan base -- but I'm not sure though. Grumpy may still be in the picture -- but possibly no backwards baseball cap.

So no Field of Dreams 2 with Kevin Costner

I wouldn't mind another sitcom, Gary was okay and a nice departure from the grumpy Luke but I'd like something in the middle. Playing the strait guy to a funny partner/wife. Something on HBO would be idea. Any news if the guys on Hung want to expand their business in S2?
