Aliens in America 1.09 - Junior Prank ~ Episode Discussion

Justin (Dan Byrd) and Raja (Adhir Kalyan) are excited when they are asked to participate in the annual Junior Prank. The plan is to flood the teachers' lounge, but Raja finds the idea too destructive and convinces Justin to sabotage the prank. When they accidentally flood the football field instead, they incur the wrath of the entire school.

Meanwhile, Gary (Scott Patterson) tries to make up for losing his job by getting all the money possible out of his alpacas, and recruits Claire (Lindsey Shaw) to care for them.

Finally, Franny (Amy Pietz) tries to earn more money by selling most of the family's possessions on Craig's List.

~~~~
Gary and alpacas should be fun!
Did you see the CW Source interview with Scott, Part 2?? He says that alpacas are dirty and don't behave, and he doesn't enjoy working with animals too much. I loved the alpacas' huge eyes. They look cute. Claire
Gary acting crazy trying to get a job. And HE'S GOT A NEW JOB!!! YEA!!!! I was really getting tired of him not working.
Franny selling almost everything on Craig's List. It's a riot. Tables, sheds, Justin's artwork, 3 tv sets.
And the boys flooding the football field. And Mr. Matthews bribing Raja with chocolates.
And the way that Gary got a job was hilarious.
I liked the episode. Lots of giggles.
Aren't alpacs in the same family as camels? They tend to spit and kick.
I found the entire episode amusing. More like this, please.
I really enjoyed this whole episode. I like Gary being out of a job because I love seeing him hang around the house in his casual clothes. I love all his long sleeve t-shirts. They fit him great!
Good one (they're all good!) Will miss it in the coming month.
My fave parts - Gary in job interviews
1st - question for CFO job --> answers, laughing "you made that stuff up, right?"
2nd (best!) - Gary crying over the "girls" he can't feed - and his wife is about to sell them on the Internet. Ashley and Madison ..... all these 'wannabe upscale' girls' names that could be either gender; child or pet. V. funny + different side of Gary! Great mockery! (Lindsay's another good one, actually!)
Did everyone catch the link to the latest CW interview (part 2) with Scott re: Aliens in America! Said the alpacas are very dirty animals. Oh, Ashley! Oh Madison! Oh Donder! Oh Blitzen! .............
p.s. I hope they retrieve their table and chairs from e-bay or craig's list ... 'cause they're very similar to mine! I liked that!!!
I loved the sneaky way which he convinced his new employer the reason why he had to get this job: "When my wife is fixed on something -- there's no stopping her!!" "I promised my youngest that I would keep the herd together." Heehee. I'm just glad he now has a job. Whew.
I really liked the episode... Gary on the first interview.. how he was sitting in that chair.. like it wanted to swallow him.. Too funny.
And how Franny kept selling all the stuff, which she said, wouldn't miss anyone.. yeah, right!!
Gary has an addiction to alpacas and Franny has an addiction to selling off items on Craig's List -- they need counselling sessions!.
Did anyone understand what Claire said that she needed that was being stored in the shed that Franny sold???
I believe she said, "Those were my never again clothes."
I didn't think much of the episode. The only redeeming part was Scott wearing the brown henley shirt.
NGNM: You mean Don Henley when speaking of henley, right? I love him. The Eagles have been my favorite group since I was a teenager. I've seen just about every show when they've come to the Maryland area. There's a lot of history there and with Henley.
Did anyone see that beer bottle go up and down when Gary was sleeping? The thoughts (dirty and otherwise) I had then!!
SPA, I wasn't referring to Don Henley (though Boys of Summer is a great song.) Where I come from, that style of shirt is called a henley. I don't know the origin.
Did you notice the bump on the back of Scott's left shoulder?
