717 - Gilmore Girls Only ~ episode discussion

Quote:
Lorelai (Lauren Graham) plans a road trip to North Carolina to attend the wedding of Mia (guest star Kathy Baker), the woman who took in Lorelai and Rory (Alexis Bledel) and served as a surrogate mother/grandmother for many years. Rory has a fight with Logan (Matt Czuchry) over his immature reaction to his business disaster, and agrees to go on the trip with Lorelai. Emily (Kelly Bishop) invites herself along in an effort to get away from Richard (Edward Herrmann), who is driving her crazy while he recuperates at home.

At the wedding, Emily is upset by the close relationship Mia shares with Lorelai and Rory. Lorelai learns that Emily came to see Mia five years earlier to ask for pictures of Lorelai and Rory during the years they were estranged. Logan makes a surprise appearance and asks Rory to forgive him.

Meanwhile, Lane (Keiko Agena) and Zack (Todd Lowe) ask Luke (Scott Patterson) to be the godfather to their twins. Finally, Lane goes into labor and Luke helps get everyone to the hospital.

Sean Gunn also stars. Lee Shallat Chemel directed the episode written by David Babcock.

April 10! Eeek!

I really enjoyed the episode. More getting back to basics and seeing the girls interacting with one another. And I loved that Emily was there

Luke was awesome, as usual. But I was starting to wonder if he was going to offer Zach any advice! Poor Zach was to the point of exploding before Luke reassured him. But it was pretty funny

Something about the ep bugged me, though. At what time does Luke's open and is it light out already then? I was totally expecting darkness when Zach knocked on the door, but the sun was shining. I am a nerd, I know.

Nice episode, loved Luke giving advice to Zack when he freaked out.

It was so sweet when they invited Luke over to diner to ask him to be the godfather to their twins. I was confused though when i saw Lane pouring Luke coffee at dinner.

Yeah, the fact that it was still light out when he opened bugged me, too, since in the past it's always been dark. And it's not like it is the time of year when it is likely to be light earlier!

Hee. Homemade peach pie. Made by Luke

Good! Glad I wasn't the only one? Oh, and I seriously hated Lorelai's dress!
