lulu , I hope you have grandkids then too - so much fun!
Hehe, that's what I was wondering!

Personally I think closing the Hot Seat thread and the I never thread would be good condensing

I love everyones answers to the song choice.

i like this new thread too. I vote for it to stay. I also think that the Intro thread should stay. The others I am fine with if they are closed.

I loved finding out the way everyone got their names. I especially love Deborah's answer. I would have loved being named after Deborah Kerr.

I have always been interested in how people got there names or why the chose names for their children. I could talk about names for hours. When I taught kindergarten I had the kids find out why they were named their name as a homework assignment. It was so interesting and the kids loved it.

I agree with you, Michelle. I've always loved finding out how people got their names too. That sounds like a very cool assignment. in the past, when I've written a story or a novel or anything in between, I always took a lot of time choosing just the right name. I love knowing what certain names mean too.

I think that would be a good idea. Everything will be in this thread anyway.

Why were you given your name? If you do not want to share your real name, why do you have the username you do?

My first name is my maternal grandmother's name, and my middle name is my paternal grandmother's middle name. (You know how they change the name to protect the innocent in books and so forth, well I think I will have to conceal my name to protect the guilty.)

Of course, Tarty History is from Gilmore Girls.

In ten years, what will you be doing (or want to be doing), what kind of person do you think you'll be?

I would really like to go back to college part-time and finish my degree, probably just in time to retire. Oh well, it would be just for me. I hope to be able to work less, and have more time for family/friends/fun.

What song best describes you when you first wake up in the morning?

Take This Job and Shove It. Also, 'Work your Fingers to the Bone what do you get...Boney Fingers' works too.

What is your favorite book you read as a child?

I am not remembering any stellar children's book I read as a child, but I love "If you give a Mouse a Cookie" that I read to my kids.

What is your favorite joke of all time? Clean or PG-13?

Gee, I have no humor in my life, absolutely no jocularity at all....NOT!!!

A healthy sense of humor will get you through just about anything.

I will be back to edit this when I think of a joke that can actually be printed here.

BTW, I like this new thread!! Good idea!!

Tarty I think you and I are the same age as well. If you look at my screen name the number will give you a big clue.

With my kids, especially my son, it was always The Berenstein Bears books.

My dad, my brothers and my sons were out in my garage this weekend working on replacing one of my son's car engine (all car guys), and even at their ages there was still plenty of bathroom talk, bodily function talk, burps, etc. I don't think it ever gets old for them, especially bonding over working on a car. Heehee

I had a mess of them over the weekend. My house smelled like a bar with food. I had to retreat to my frilly bedroom to escape.

And even grown men making body noises still puta a grin on their face. The louder the noise, the bigger the grin. Must have been the beer.

They were watching NCAA Hoops over the weekend. Made a party at my house on Saturday. It was way too much Testosterone. I should have brought my girlfriends over and had a knitting party. That would have changed things around
