Deborah -- I was named after the actress Deborah Kerr, because I had very fine light strawberry blonde hair (so the story goes)

In ten years, what will you be doing (or want to be doing), what kind of person do you think you'll be?

RETIRED!!!!! And living in Los Angeles, California. Kind of person I think I'll be? -- a volunteer for children or a companion for senior citizens -- but definately not working so I can enjoy life a bit -- and possiblly, give a little bit of happiness back.

What song best describes you when you first wake up in the morning?

Take This Job And Shove It -- I've worked in the legal field for such a loooong time. I can't wait to just r-e-l-a-x.

What is your favorite book you read as a child?

All the Nancy Drew mysteries.

I was going to suggestion more of a 'Question' type thread like we have on the Jake board. Jake Question Thread

I was named after my maternal grandmother, who died the year before I was born, so my parents were looking for a name that began with "E." They were also seriously considering Eleanor. I like Eleanor, but I love Elissa, so I think they made the right choice. I hate my middle name (I got rid of it when I got married) and that was the name of my mother's paternal grandmother, a nasty strict woman who my mother never liked. Isn't that fun?

In ten years, what will you be doing (or want to be doing), what kind of person do you think you'll be?
Hopefully, I will be a mother.
I also hope to be writing as a profession and make use of that degree I have. I took the first step a few months ago, and started writing regularly again after having stopped writing for 10 years.

"If I Could Turn Back Time" performed by Cher - I think that is self-explanatory. If it was a few hours earlier, I could sleep a little longer.

As an adolescent, I loved the Judy Blume books, and as a teenager, I loved romance novels. Earlier than the adolescent years, I don't remember.

When I saw Jackie Mason a few years ago(quite a few years ago now), he was talking about Donald and Ivana Trump getting divorced. He said how Ivana complained to Donald how she gave him the best years of her life. Donald's response was, "I know they were the best years of your life, I paid for them." I hate Donald Trump, but I love that joke and I love Jackie Mason. I LOVE Jewish humor, except on "Seinfeld." I loved the jokes on "The Nanny" though.

I'm not comfortable sharing my real name, so, I'll tell about my user name (scooterjo2004). As a baby, I didn't crawl, I would scoot around, or roll to whereever I wanted to get, so one day (I was about 2), I got into something I wasn't supposed to and my dad yelled "Scooter Jo" and it stuck. Jo is my middle name (the J in CJ). 2004 is the year I graduated from HS. To this day, if my dad yells Scooter Jo, I know I'm in trouble, and if he yells my real name, I better run!

In ten years, what will you be doing (or want to be doing), what kind of person do you think you'll be?
I'm hoping to go to law school in 2 or 3 years from now. I'm undecided between family law and international law as my concentration. I would hope to be married and have the "all American family", nice house, 2 cars, 2.3 kids (two kids and a dog/cat/gold fish).

How many El Salvadorians does it take to blow up a stove? This is an inside joke between my sister and I. My (ex) boyfriend and his brother were making carnitas and somehow the element caught on fire. So, in a panic, boyfriend calls like 10 of his friends to come over and help him replace the stove before my aunt gets home, like she's not going to notice a new stove. So, in the mean time, my sister (who was dating boyfriend's brother at the time-- yes, I have a very Jerry Springer family!) and I pull up and go in to find all of them gathered around the stove. Very long, very funny story, you had to be there.

I like that format - would you prefer that we switch to that? It's sort of a combination of the Hot Seat, Intro, I've never.... and This or That threads we have open here - and now this one too. So maybe we should condense some of those into one "Getting to know you" thread.

I like the idea of condensing

The Intro thread should stay the way it is. I'm not entirely sure as to what lil 'questions' are in it. But I'd say if you're going to have this thread, then you really don't need the Hot Seat thread. Like someone said, this way everyone gets to participate. I'm not really sure what kind of This or That thread you have - I'll have to look and then I might comment on that But I definitely thing that the Hot Seat thread should be done if you're going to have this one

And another thing. When there seems to be a lull in people answering the questions and the time frame isn't up for new questions, make some nice comments as to what people answered with Kinda like Lulu did.
