I thought this would be a fun thread. Since the Starlet is doing Peyton scene I thought it would be fun to talk about who you thought did the better job. We all know that none of these girls can do as good as Hil though.

I haven't seen the show before so I really don't know about the girls acting. So far they showed the first girl and I didn't care for her. I think she overplayed it. It just wasn't convincing enough for me.

ETA:

Second girl- Didn't like her at all

Third girl- She did it for me. I had tears in my eyes. I liked how she went into a whisper and then at the end her voice got louder and more intense. The first 2 didn't have the change of voice or emotion. I hope she wins.

I've tried hard to like all the girls in The Starlet because I don't want to feel disappointed with the girl chosen to get the OTH spot. Tonight though, I was very disappointed.

Michelynne seems very sweet, but I thought her performance was pretty weak. So much of it seemed very fake and over-done. I was surprised by the praise from Vivica and Joe.

I didn't enjoy Katie, but I think she's improved a lot. I thought she was better than Michelynne, but that's not saying much.

I had the highest hopes for Mercedes because I think she's the best of the group at dramatic scenes. I didn't enjoy her performance very much though. Her facial expressions were too much, and the emotions felt fake. I think her scene was the best, but it just didn't impress me as I hoped it would.

Maybe I was hoping for too much because I'm familiar with Hilarie/Peyton and the speech. Hilarie nailed that speech. Even just the clip they showed at the beginning had me tearing up a little. Hilarie just seemed much more natural about it. I really shouldn't compare Hil's performance to any of theirs.

Ok well i m glad michellelynne won. I was very happy about that. But that was not because of her performance tonight, because in terms of the performance tonight, mercedes did the best in my opinion.

My favor for michellelyne has to do more with the overall past weeks. I have only seen a few scenes with her and liked her. Mercedes has been good too but I guess i just always held a torch for michellelynne....but since this is about tonight's performance......

In that case if it was based on only tonight's performance the order for me would be from best to worst: Mercedes, Michellelynne, Katie. I feel that Mercedes did the best with the acting job....not nearly as good as Hil but the best out of the three.

Let me first start off by saying that none of these girls were better then Hil. I think they all need work on their acting and I hope this Starlet isn’t staying on OTH for long.

Ok now with what I thought

Michelynne- Well I didn’t like how she did the first line “Bless me father…….” Fast. It seemed like she rushed through it. I felt like I was still at the beginning line and she was way ahead of me. I felt also her emotion was very fake. The whole fake cry in the middle of the speech err I hated that. I felt like she had to blow her nose in the middle of the speech or something. Her whole emotion was what made me hate her scene.

Katie- hahaha I loved how she lied to the other girl about what the judges thought of her performance. Anyways I didn’t like hers either. I hated how she paused between every line. She should have just kept going with less pauses. I felt like she never was going to finish it.

Mercedes- If I had to pick between the girls I would have to say I would pick her performance. I guess the way she had her eyes down a lot bugged me also like the judges. I felt like her emotion was there and I liked the way she delivered it.

I think Hil will have been proud of all of these girls even if they did butcher her scene

I wanted Mercedes to win though but that’s alright hopefully thing Starlet wont be on OTH long.

I wasn't attached to anyone tonight since no one's been consistent enough. But I am glad Michelynne won since I think she'll benefit most from getting the role. And I think her looks will fit in better than Mercedes' or Katie's.

I feel for Mercedes because she's had more experience, but hopefully she'll have other opportunities. I think Michelynne was the best choice.

Mercedes was the one I liked too But personally it was really hard to judge...I kept comparing them to Hil and that wasn't going so well

Since I haven't seen any of the other episodes I cannot fairly give an opinion on who I thought should have won. But I didn't care for Katie from what I saw.

I did cry when they showed that small clip of Hil doing the scene. Man that scene still gets to me. I would have been more upset if they did the bathroom scene. Hil did a wonderful job of that and it shouldnt be messed with

O I know she seemed like a real bitch. I did love how she lied to that girl about the judges opinions about her perfromance.

O and I would have went nuts watching this show because of all the "O thank you" Err they seemed so fake. O thank you very much. That makes me so happy to hear. O cut the bull

I don't think anyone could have come close to Hilarie's delivery of the bathroom scene. That just blew me away. I wouldn't have wanted anyone to try that scene either.

Yea I know. I think of you liked Peyton or not you really felt for her in that scene because of Hil's delivery. I think when Tere first told us on the Hil/Peyton thread on the OTH board I think she got mixed up and said it was the bathroom scene and I will say I was pissed. No one can mess with that scene because Hil did awesome.

Pretty much all of their scenes were horrible. I was waiting for Hil to come in and kick their asses. Sadly, she didn't not, and probably wouldn't have because she's just too damn nice. I was glad that Michelynne won because I definitely like her personality best, even though the crying in her scene was horrible. Mercedes did have the best one, but I don't really like her and I really can't see her fitting in with the cast, again Michelynne does that the best. I was laughing so hard when Katie lied to Michelynne about what the judges said, she is in so much denial, it kills me.

Just so you know, I'm pretty sure that Michelynne is only going to be in the one episode, as far as I know, anyway. I really don't see the girl that's buying Brooke's house to be doing much crying or confessing in a church, so I'm going to assume that she'll do better in the episode then in that scene.

Well in all honesty, when you guys mentioned last week that they were going to "act" out a scene, I was NOT looking foward to it at all. I've seen some of their acting (via Jimmy Kimmel Live ), and I didn't want to see them butcher a great Hil scene.
