Mark was a huge Peyton fangirl for the longest time. I know it's hard to tell since Peyton suffered so much.

That's why Mark had two episodes where he only had scenes with her.

Sometimes the best characters go through the toughest things. Those are the characters I tend to be drawn too.

That's how life is. It isn't easy and we don't always make the best choices. Peyton always seemed learn from hers so I think that's part of what made her a great character.

Especially with how she suffered from the grief of losing a parent early in life. Everyone can relate to losing someone they love.

I always felt bad that she lost both of her moms. That scene where she is spreading Ellie's ashes was so touching.

He was in maybe one episode during s1, disappeared in s2, and reemerged here and there in s3. After that he was gone. I think it's safe to say that Peyton felt pretty abandoned by both all her parents, in one way or another.
