I think it was that episode that really showed people what Peyton was all about and where a lot of her sadness and anger came from. And its one of the episodes in season 1 that I love the most.

Maybe it's the shows I watch now but I just don't find a comparison with today's characters.

If I had to compare it would be Angela Chase from My So-Called Life.

I loved MSCL and was thinking of Angela too and Caitlyn from Caitlyns Way, both troubled girls. These shows of course existed before OTH. Because I cant think of a name from the top of my head with any of today's character I guess I dont see any comparisons either in that regard.
