RIGHT PLACE AT THE WRONG TIME — After Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) and his fiancée enjoy planning their dream wedding, Brooke (Sophia Bush) and Peyton (Hilarie Burton) reconnect. Nathan (James Lafferty) works with Quentin (guest star Robbie Jones) on his basketball skills, but Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) for Nathan’s well-being. Reeling from a threat to her store, Brooke reaches out to an unexpected ally. Jamie (Jackson Brundage) catches Skills (Antwon Tanner) and Deb (Barbara Alyn Woods) kissing. TRAGEDY HITS TREE HILL - Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) returns from Las Vegas to face a tragedy, as Nathan (James Lafferty) and Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) struggle to find a way to help Jamie (Jackson Brundage) understand the death of someone close to them. A FAMOUS MUSICIAN VISITS PEYTON - Lucas (Chad Michael Murray) struggles to inspire the Ravens, while Haley (Bethany Joy Galeotti) investigates the disappearance of Dan (Paul Johansson). Brooke (Sophia Bush) confronts an old demon from her past, as Nathan (James Lafferty) comes to terms with Deb's (Barbara Alyn Woods) relationship with Skills (Antwon Tanner). Peyton (Hilarie Burton) is surprised when a famous musician visits her studio. Terrence Coli directed the episode written by Mark Schwahn (#604).

There's a scene where Peyton enters Tric due to the sound of a guitar. She sees a man in there who is messing around with a studio guitar. The engineer at Tric tells her that the man is Mick Wolf, but he's not sure what he's doing there, possibly recording.

Peyton is at the basketball game with Mick Wolf (side for 6.04). He is telling her some stories about Ellie and her real father.

Mick is played by John Doe. (Liz's father on Roswell).

Just one last question here. Now, I know you can’t tell us who Lucas invited to Las Vegas, obviously, but do you think the fans will be happy with how that storyline plays out?

You know Don, I really hope so. I know that there’s a danger in -- One of the staples of our show and the staples of television in general has been the love triangle. For us it became a love rectangle, which was my version and the show’s version of trying to turn that dynamic on its head a little bit. I think at the end of last season no one would have expected Lindsey, no one would have expected the introduction of someone else that Lucas was interested in and that Lucas loved. Whether the fans loved it or hated it or whether they felt like it worked, I always felt it was a way of challenging the audience and yet still giving them the show they sort of love. Obviously, I’m not stupid about this stuff and I don’t make these decisions lightly, I know that if Lucas picks one person, that changes the dynamic that the audience has been familiar with for a long, long time. The relationship and who Lucas picks will frame the season for a lot of fans. For the ones that are happy, it’ll be a great season. For the ones that wish he would have picked someone else, the season will suck. I would just urge them to look beyond that and look at what we’re doing as a show. I mean, when you watch the first three episodes, it’s undeniable that this is still a relevant, risky, forward thinking show. I think that this season is once again a really challenging, forward thinking season of One Tree Hill.

There were a lot of new characters introduced last season. Is there anyone new joining this year?

We will meet some new faces along the way, sure. One of them is John Doe, who is playing Nick Wolfe, who may or may not be Peyton’s biological father. And I think that that’s very much at the center of the storyline, is they expect him to be her father but he’s not very forthcoming as a character with that information. The question is why is that the case when he clearly made a choice to reach out to Peyton. So we plan to see John earlier than later in the season. We’ll see the return of Daphne Zuniga’s character, Victoria, which is really great. Above and beyond that, we will see some new characters. One of them is a character named Samantha, who is being played by Ashley Rickards. She’s a younger character, I always think it’s important to keep younger characters in the show while the show has aged. You still have a young fan base that’s interested in those stories, and so Samantha is going to be a high school student that we’re going to meet early on and tell stories about her as well.

I've thought that for awhile.

So, if Mark has a new character that he is introducing in 608 and he will be pretty much be on the rest of the season, does that mean that Mark has the season pretty much mapped out and knows what he wants to do?

It seems like he must have some outline. In that video Rebecca posted with some crew members interviewing some LP fans, they said something about reserving the wedding for the season finale. I don't know if they actually knew or if they were just speculating.

The network and its ambitious plans is the only thorn in Mark's side. Other than that, I'd like to believe that he has the season mapped out.

I'd like to think so, but I doubt it. Maybe he'll have him around to mess with LP a little bit, maybe get with Brooke, maybe do other things. He's probably keeping options open. It could be one of those situation where they'll stay with a storyline unless it's really not working. Like how they brought Chase back because fans seemed to like him. And then since he's still around they'll stick him in somebody else's storyline. I'm just babbling.

It honestly doesn't ever seem like this show has 10 episodes mapped out ahead of time, though. I can't think of an example where it's felt that way. Well, except maybe the first 9 episodes of season 4.

So Lucas wants Lindsey to be part of his movie according to tv.com. Is it possible this is an exaggeration based on the Julian side? On the other hand, they did also say Sam gets a crush on Nathan, so its possible that its no exaggeration at all...

tv.com is saying that because of the side. In the side it appears Lucas is waiting to OK this movie with "Lindsey" before he signs any contracts. It's just a bad description. But for we know, it could be Lindsey in the side and Lucas may want to get her opinion on what he should do. Who knows. But I just don't see what the fuss is about.
