Family Appreciation Thread!

A thread dedicated to the love/hate relationship between Peyton Sawyer, Lucas Scott and his father, Dan Scott. This is a place where people can discuss their opinions about Peyton and Lucas' ongoing relationship and how Dan's actions and inactions have effected their amazing relationship.

Reasons:
1. Because he would gladly erase his dad if it could bring back her mom.
2. Because they make Dan 19434893759483 x infinity more interesting than watching him spar with a toddler, ex-wives/girlfriends, psycho nannies or the "comeback" kid.
3. Because of how awesome these three characters really are. We can talk for hours on them!
4. Because even in S1 Dan had his eye on Lucas and Peyton! (1.07)

L: “I don’t think so. I think she was afraid that if you knew the truth, you’d feel obligated in some way. That it would change things between you for the wrong reasons.”
P: “ Kind of like your little secret about Dan and the fire?”
L: <scoffs>
D: “And what little secret is that? Sorry to interrupt your little melodrama but Lucas and I have unfinished business.”
L: “Peyton, you should go.”
P: “Yeah, we’ll both go.”
D: “A bit oedipal don’t you think? Trying to kill Daddy. Someone should tell Mommy she’s in for some action.”
L: “You don’t know what happened that night. You can’t remember it, and it’s killing you.”
D: “Enlighten me.”
L: “Let go!”
P: “Leave him alone!”
D: “This is a family matter. You’d understand if you had one.”
L: “You son of a bitch!”
D: <laughs> “My record on this court’s a little better than yours Lucas.”
<struggles>
D: “You really think you can try to kill me??”
P: “Stop it!”
D: “You think you can get away with it?”
P: “Let go!”
D: “There are easier ways to kill a man, Lucas.
P: “He wasn’t trying to kill you!”
D: “Like choking.”
P: “He saved your life!"
Lucas: <coughing>
P: “Lucas, please, you have to tell him…”
L: “<gasping> I was there…but not to kill you. I saved your life, but I should have let you burn.”
D: “Well a stronger man would’ve. This will be our secret, Lucas. And that goes for you too Miss Sawyer.”
P: “Luke, I’m sorry. I had to tell him.”
L: “It’s all right.”
P: “Are you okay?"
L: “That’s my father. What do you think?”

Anyone remember Lucas' "I'll gladly erase my dad if it could bring back your mom." Or how he spontaneously spilled about Dan on their first meeting?

And who could forget the epic scene from 3.03?

It's sad Paul's talent is getting wasted with a toddler. He's better than that.

Does he even know LP are engaged? I wonder what he'll think about Peyton's...um...'condition' once it "spreads"

Seriously why is Paul and Hil not in alot of scenes? Those 2 love to mess around but in 303 you saw they do mean buisness when its time to go to work and like someone said Chad works amazingly well with Paul. Its when he really elevates his acting. Its probably because Dan reminds him of his mom though.

Ugh poor Paul is wasted on the likes of Jamie. I really want Dan to say something mean about Peyton's "condition" especially since it has "spread" and all

That is the thing...he probably doesn't know. PJ is an amazing talent, and his scenes with CMM & HB are phenomenal. I love Lucas telling Peyton he would erase Dan to bring back Anna. That was

! The love, even then. I just don't get it. How do we think Dan will take the news of the engagement?

I'd like to think Dan will have some sort of reaction to it, but I dont know. Just the way the writers have written him. I'd hope either we get him to say hope you be a better husband then I was to Deb or even a snide comment LOL

I agree. I would love a heart to heart from Dan to Lucas advising him on what NOT to do. I mean...Dan is like the poster child for destroying a perfectly good relationship!

This show is lost without Dan/Lucas interactions That was the one story that should have been given a proper resolution.

Thats why 611 was a decent episode. We had alot of Dan/Lucas and Dan/Peyton. Seriously that car scene between DP was really acted out well for an episode that was just ok
