Would you have brought Julian into s5 or would you have written his introduction in s6 differently?

Personally, I always felt that the whole Peyton/Julian storyline was something the writers needed to pursue more or not worry about it, so if they were still going to pursue Brulian, I wouldn't have worried about the ex aspect of Julian's introduction.

^ Definitely how I feel. I think the writers were attempting to "even the playing field" with LP in s6 which is why they brought him into the show. But then he started falling for Brooke within a few episodes so it was kind of weird how it was written.

I wish there wasn't an playing field to even in the first place really. I don't think they originally planned on doing the Brulian stuff

Relationships and life can be messy at times so they definitely didn't have to "even things out" so to speak. I think they could've just had it to where Peyton knew Julian in LA and maybe he had a crush on her but that was as far as it went.

That's a good point Alexa. LH were only super close in s1 with a few scenes sprinkled into other seasons.

Well, I just meant that they didn't have consistent scenes after s1. Not that they weren't close in a general sense.
