Oh, lord. That was just the most pathetic straw grasping I've ever witnessed. Just like the people who drew parallels between B's order during the "pick one" line up and the number of the card he chose.

The thing I loved - but didn't read too much into - was that Peyton was the only one who he actually brought flowers to, that he chose himself, and that she loved. Simple as that.

That's one of the things I love most about Peyton and LP. Peyton doesn't go out of her way to control every situation, nor does she try and change who Lucas is. Mark might had been smoking when he wrote some of OTH but he's always stayed true to things like that about Peyton's character. I thought the dreams were completely unnecessary and useless, but they definitely gave some solid character portrayal.

well if it weren't for pleasing the fans, Peyton would have never even gotten a damn engagment ring, so its like a whole new level of easygoingness.

IDK about that. I always thought Mark would rehash the Kieth ring for some reason. I just did not see the storyline of the episode going that way lol

I was pretty shocked there was not a single mention of a ring until 615! It took them way too long to get to that. That issue should have been brought up in like 602!

i was so confused all season about the damn ring. I thought she was gonna wear her mother's ring as an engagement ring, then he bought her that big one, then she said she wanted Keith's. I was like

I think the writers just totally forgot, and then were like "Oh crap, we have to think of something fast". And by that point, they'd forgotten all about the ring discussion in 601.

I think they were only going to use that for a wedding ring when they got married in Vegas, but since they didn't get married they didn't use it. I always thought that ring was pretty random. With the lameness that can come out of the writers I was surprised Luke didn't pull a plastic ring out of a cracker jack box, a 'la Naley.

Peyton isn't really one who would make a huge deal out of having a ring to show everyone that Luke belongs to her - unlike some female characters.

I'm pretty sure it's still important to have a ring. At least in my mind it is. It's just part of the whole thing as far as I'm concerned.
