I know he reconsidered, but it was too late since the contracts were non negotiable. whether or not he reconsidered because of Hilarie, I dont know. I know he realized his job prospects weren't as good as he thought they were gonna be.

Idk it's hard for me to believe this unless you've heard this from Mark himself

Of course Mark's number one option was to have LP end the series together and on the show, but I got the feeling that he conjured up the pregnancy SL because he knew that Chad would probably leave and he wanted a part of Lucas still on the show. As much as Mark is a glutton for over the top dramatics and Peyton-angst, I dont doubt for a second that he would have gone through with a Lucas death. I just can't see Mark forcing Peyton's character (of all characters) off of the show. It felt like Hilarie was pushed into a corner but at the same time she made a conscious decision to not be in S7 because of the direction the show was going, and maybe Mark even pitched her an idea of where he would take Peyton's character in S7. Of course this is all speculation but Mark's bitterness about Peyton not being on the show anymore, doesnt make much sense if he was the reason for Peyton not being on the show.

But who knows..I'm a little tipsy so I'm probably not makin sents anyway lol

it really doesn't make sense at all - they'll insert a scene where Lucas gives Jamie a present, and put Lucas in a good light, but they'll have Brooke make a bitter comment about Peyton. It's like ummm, guys? Why are we favoring Chad and not Hil when he was the one who decided to leave in the first place?

I stopped trying to make sence of it long ago,but I think it was like this: Chad wanted out,Mark wanted LP together but he also would write Peyton as a single mom but he and Hil have come to an undrestanding and they both decided its better for the character not to come back.and that weird video from Chad? he wanted to change his mind,but it was too late.and Mark's bitterness about Peyton not being there? anyway,Im just truly happy that LP got their happy ending,and also Im really glad I dont have to put up with the show anymore,though I truly miss LP

And god bless him for that. I absolutely ADORE Hil, but I wouldn't want her to stay if it meant the end of LP. Plus, it's not like they miss her, or even really appreciated her anyway. At least according to what the cast/crew interviews infer

God it would be depressing to see Peyton trying to raise their child without him (I think Hil would have me crying every week

.). I just don't want that for LP's love story, they have dealt with so much just don't need that Shakespearean Tragedy.
