Hot Seat #7: You think you know but you have no idea (Meli - 1/18-2/2)

Carry on ...

For two weeks, someone is gonna be in the "hot seat" answering quetions that the other ask. The question are of that person's life, like, What's her/his hobbie?. It also can be a Hil question. The person who's in the hot seat doesn't need to answer all the questions....but I think it's fun. It's like a get-to-know thread...but just one person at a time

So if you like the idea, who's up for it?? Remember it can be about anything, but not too personal, if you know what I mean.

My dad was born in India. Well it was still India at that time though nowadays you'd say it's part of Pakistan. The Pakistan part of Punjab. They had to flee to India when India was divided though. He moved to Europe in the 70s and built a business and a life.
My mother was born in England but her parents were immigrants from India. Don't ask me where exactly they came from because I don't really know. I'm pretty sure they were from Punjab too.
I was born in London but moved to Germany with a few months because my father lived there and had his business set up there.

What's your favorite thing to do?

Dunno. I don't rate things that much. I enjoy things or I don't. I love to read. Although I haven't been doing too much of that. Apart from that anything that let's me use my brain. The more it goes to the limits of my intellect the better.

Favorite songs?

Right now I'm pretty much hooked on Fuel. Angels Take A Soul, Scars In The Making, Sunburn

Otherwise it really depends. I love music. Never thought about favouring anything over the other if I like it. There are just too many aspects to it. It really depends on time, mood, circumstances of my life.

Favorite movie?

Star Wars. All of them but if I had to pick probably Episode V since it was the most spiritual one. And it's not just about the special effects, the guns and the lightsabres. It's more about the philosophical and spiritual connotations that the series has.

Best city you've been to?

London. I've seen a few cities in my life but none has captured my heart as London has.

One plave you've always wanted to visit?

Japan. My cousin and I once made a pact that we'd be visiting Japan together. It must be a very interesting place. On the one hand these overcrowded, hectic, modern mega cities and on the other hand old culture that believes in the very opposite.

Also there are still some places in India that I'd like to visit. Oh and pretty much any place that had great significance in history. Like Italy (especially Rome), Egypt or Greece

What are you supposed to be doing as a job?

Something with computer systems I guess. Planning them, setting them up, maintaining them, teaching other people about them or selling them. As a Business Information Scientist I could be doing a ton of different things.

Will you take a new pic for us?

Maybe if you girls are nice to me .

Happy now?

Certainly happier than before

Windows

Fave Peyton moment?

Tough one. I think when she totally let's everything go and admits to herself that she has always loved Lucas in 321 (the last scene in the play). With all the flashbacks and a lot of reflection on everything that happened since the pilot.

Fave animal?

I love animals that show some form of grace. As a kid I loved Cobras (and yes I've seen them live and kicking and outside of a terrarium). I think I could still live with that choice.

Cobras are graceful. Unique choice.

I agree with your Peyton choice. I flove everything about that scene.

Do you use chat-up lines and if so, which one(s)?

Have you ever cried because of a girl?

First of all I should say that I'm really a shy guy. So chat up lines really aren't my thing. I really try to ease into such conversations and let everything else come by itself. Think Lucas but even more closed off and maybe even broodier. That would be me. But once I know someone I can really open up. But by then I wouldn't need a chat up line any more, would I?

Have you ever cried because of a girl?

I'm not really a person that cries all that much. I've been through so much bad things that I shut feelings down when they are too hurtful. Yes I can be hit hard and I can get quite emotional about things but I tend not to cry. So unless it's way in my past I don't really recall crying because of a girl.

Oh wait I recall my parents telling me that I cried when my cousin hit me. But we were like really little kids back then. And the last time she tried to pull such a stunt I nailed her down and tickled her till she gave up.

So tbh I actually have cried because of a girl but not the way you thought I would have

She really was a violent little girl. Hm I might have to make her pay some more the next time I see her .

I was too much of a pacifist back then

Besides I don't hit girls. Even when I was too little to even comprehend why that should be a no go .

Would you rather go sky diving or scuba diving?

While sky diving is probably the bigger thrill I'd probably prefer scuba diving. If you are at a great place you can see so much beauty in the ocean. Ages ago I had a friend who went to the Maldives every year or so and he showed me pictures of the ocean. It really is beautiful. I've never done real scuba diving myself but I did some diving in the Mediterranean, the North and the East Sea and in the Indian Ocean.

Nature in all it's glory is something I can really enjoy.

Movies or television?

A while ago I would have said movies. But since I haven't seen too many really great movies in a while I'd probably say television right now. There are quite a few great TV shows available. House, Heroes, Dexter, OTH just to name a few.

Worst movie you have ever watched?

OMG. I have watched so much trash that this is a really tough one. I think a year ago or so I watched a really really poor film. There were all of these models (like the top 5 or 10 models) and it was kind of a thriller. Someone was killing all these models (who I think were shooting a movie or making model pictures) one by one and they (especially the lead actress) tried to find out who and why. The story was so lame and predictable. The acting was worse than horrid. I don't even know why I watched it to the end. In the end the ugly chick that was taking the pictures and one of the models ended up being lesbians and had killed all of the other girls so that that model would be the #1 model in the world. Of course the ugly chick killed that model too in the end.

Horrible movie. If you ever see this movie don't get it or watch it. I was about to kill myself by the end. I just hate to not finish things that I've started. I probably messed some things of the storyline up but I remember more than enough. And yes I'm suffering while I'm remembering that stuff.
