Peyton also defended Brooke against Victoria. And Brooke was very supportive of LP too which was nice.

For me I would say:
Season 5 - Their friendship felt very genuine to me and I really enjoyed the stuff in 501/502 with the phone call and Brooke coming home and Peyton coming home at the same time and resuming their friendship. Brooke was a great friend through the LP drama.

Season 2 - This season they seemed to have a very genuine friendship and lots of interactions. I love that Peyton was okay with BL dating again even if deep down she had an issue with it.

Season 1 - Despite the cheating thing (Which I actually enjoyed watching because it created good drama IMO and Brooke had a right to be upset with Peyton) I felt like their friendship was fairly genuine. Brooke herself came off a bit annoying at times but I still liked their bond and a lot of their scenes were really funny.

Season 6 - Nothing stands out to me on an amazing level but they were genuine this season as well and there wasn't any drama which was great. I wish they got more interactions together, especially after Brooke had been beaten up, but they still had some nice moments together.

Season 3 - There were some good moments here and there, mostly early season 1, but Peyton's feelings for Lucas and Brooke's insecurities about LP really tainted them for me. 316 and after kinda sucked because Brooke was kind of cold to Peyton and things seemed awkward following the shooting. I also obviously hated how Brooke reacted to Peyton's confession when she was just trying to be honest.

season 4 - by far their worst season for obvious reasons. Brooke was just horrible to Peyton and I couldnt take the dead mom comments, that turned Brooke into my most despised character. I cant believe they went as far to have her say those things. Things got a bit better for them after 416 but things still felt very awkward between them and not quite the same as it once was.

I pretty much agree with that list and I wished the BPL stuff didn't taint their friendship as much as it did,
