Brooke 100%. At least in the early seasons. Or Nathan from time to time.

In the later seasons I hate to say it but probably Lucas.

IMO Peyton was pretty selfless and so was Haley. It seemed they always tried to please other people. With the exception of Haley going on her tour.

Yeah agreed, seen people call Peyton the most selfish. Lucas was definitely way more selfish than Peyton ever was.

Im so opposite to you guys i always thought peyton was the selfish one mroe than brooke but now i do see brooke did have her bad times .. now i see Lucas was the worst

Brooke and at times Nathan was pretty selfish in the high school seasons IMO and Lucas was in the adult seasons from what I saw. Some people disregard BN's selfshness because they developed as characters.

I have to agree, I like Brooke don't get me wrong, but in the early seasons she was for sure the most selfish. I grew to like Brooke a lot more later on but at first she was not my favorite at all. I thought Peyton was pretty selfless, same with Haley most of the time.

Yeah that's true, but I saw the selfish side of Lucas and he's my favourite male character.

All characters had their selfish moments (Haley arguably the least, partly because Mark liked to use her as a prop more than any other main character, so she barely ever got to do anything for herself), but Brooke’s brand of selfishness was by far the most irritating for me. Especially given s2+ the writers liked to pretend she’s a saint (e.g. she says she wants to run for a class president so that people would think more highly of her and this is presented as an admirable rather than terrible mindset). s2 and 5 are particularly grating on the St. Brooke front. Her “poor little rich girl with a heart of gold” sl is so terribly written and annoying. However, s3 is even worse for me because she is so excessively selfish but nobody is ever calling her out on anything.

On an unrelated note, one of my biggest pet peeves about the show in general is how bad the dialogue is. I cringe 90% of the time the characters open their mouths. The humor is mostly dumb and not funny. The serious lines are mostly cheesy, preachy and shallow. And it's all worded so badly quite frequently too.
