Peyton went from one toxic guy to the next.

Well, I don’t agree that S2 was the happiest we saw Peyton because in S6 she was pretty happy with Lucas. I think her time with Jake in S2 was definitely the happiest she was that season.

^ Well ironically I told Sam that was one of the few times I enjoyed L/P was during season 6. So Season 6 with Lucas and season 2 with Jake was the two times I saw Peyton with her happiness and I think in all that's when I preferred Peyton, when she was happy in a romance without so much drama. Peyton life was in scrambles already so she needed that happy relationship.

She actually tweeted out that she was still upset that he never came back for her. And Bryan replied. That was 2 years ago.

Outside of Lucas (season 6 and forward) Jake is the only man I can see her truly being happy with which is why season 2 has to hurt because if they don't break a part the way they did, it would be pretty tough for Peyton to fall in love with Lucas again during season 3... even in early season 3, she was still recovering from Jake leaving.

Oh man, both were so special!!!

Maybe S2 because she was such a mess and he really helped her during that time. S3 was more her looking for an escape imo.

I love them both for different reasons. As you mentioned, during that season 2 it was perfect because Peyton life was falling a part and she didn't want to lean to anyone. Even when Lucas tried to be a friend to her, she didn't want to be bothered and when Jake walked out. My reaction was like Peyton's shock! It was a huge moment.

Now season 3 is as special to me because it was after she chatted with her father Larry who told her to be with someone who makes her happy and puts her first and loves her and she went to that airport to see Jake. When I saw his face I was like. The music that played!! and then.... we saw little Jenny. And Peyton held her arms oepend for Jenny! One of the most perfect moments of the show for me.
