Brooke was a much better friend after the time skip but it was too little too late for me. PH bonding over Lucas' accident was great. Even the tense scenes (when Haley was too upset to talk to anyone and Peyton respected that and gave her space) were good. I'll forever be bitter about how their friendship was handled in s3 and 4.

Peyton had her selfish moment imo, but the fandom overblows them while trying to minimize and excuse away other characters' selfishness. Especially Brooke's. I always when I see her called selfless because she was very selfish and self-centered, especially in high school. The girl couldn't even control her "but what about me?!? poor me! *pouts/stomps/whines/ cries*" when other ppl were undergoing serious traumas that did not affect her as much or at all.

I agree. PH's friendship should have been worked on more, especially since they both share a deep love for music, that's their link and it should have been made stronger.

On the Brooke side, I think she was kinda immature and selfish in the first 3-4 seasons. I also think she got better in the last part of season 4 and then in season 5 she finally grew up a bit, but she was funny too and gave the show some lightness. I found it really terrible that she threw a party in honor of Keith's death and got mad because Luke was too upset to dance and stuff.

Not saying Peyton is perfect or anything, she also has flaws, but I guess she was more sensitive throughout the whole seasons, and when she was a bit more selfish than usual it was after a bloody long time of sadness and tears, so let the girl be selfish for once!

I'd only rewatch certain scenes. The show on the whole is not worth it. But that's only if you hate this show as much as I do.

The party thing was the worst. And she had the never to whine about it all the way up to 3.22. I was also annoyed by her insistence that her waiting in safety was also traumatic. I mean, sure it was. In a way. But nowhere near to the extent that it was for the people who did or could have gotten shot themselves. Her going "I was affected too!" to Lucas was so ugh. He was in the school the whole time and lost his uncle, you selfish nuisance.

^ I really hated the party since she tricked Luke into going when everyone and their mother knew that he wouldn't enjoy it and that she couldn't just leave alone when he wanted to leave for her own selfish reasons. The fact that she honestly held the way he treated her in this episode made her look like an selfish bitch and showed that she just didn't get Lucas at all.

^ Could you guys move the anti-BL stuff to the rant thread please?

The LP scene in 3x17 is oddly one of my favorite underrated LP scenes. "I know how you are, I'm the same way." I know that scene bothered some people because he teased Peyton about the kiss then talked about Brooke but I think he was trying to put her at ease. And there was just a deep understanding between them as they sat in the darkened library together. CH really brought something special to that scene, imo. Chad played it well, he looked at Peyton/Hil with such intensity in parts of that scene. You could feel the lingering feelings there imo.

^ Will do. Luke talking about Brooke never really bothered me since he never acted that way when it came to BL and it's the same with teasing since he did that to avoid talking about seriously.

I wasn't too fond of the Brooke part but it didn't bother me much either. I think he genuinely though she only kissed him because of the situation and was trying to reassure her and lighten up the mood. And yeah, it was nicely played by CH. I love how Lucas was all sad, angry and closed off with everyone else but different with Peyton.

I definitely would have preferred Luke not mention but it also didn't bother because later in the scene, he couldn't even deny that he was not giving Brooke his heart.

That scene was so beautiful. I loved how it turned out, speaking but not saying too much.

I just that he was all flirty/joking with Peyton but spent most of the episode distant/pissed at Brooke, showed which couple was really meant to be.

I loved that scene and the best part it was the little looks at the end.
