I think what the writer is trying to say is that she was scared, much like Peyton in previous seasons on the show. It's what I get from her reading that line from the book and only then being able to admit she loves him. But if she's scared, then it's not like she needs to do a little math in her head lol that she a)feels right with him, b)doesn't like being without him, c)only feels safe with him, etc to come to the conclusion that hey, maybe she does love him after all. LOL I think if her problem was being afraid, she didn't need any of that to know how she felt, just courage to admit it.

EDA: Ria I know what you mean by finding difficulty in getting yourself into a place where you can right LP. I'm finding it hard too.

This is true, but still so I don't think she was trying to justify it. Rather she was unaware of it, because it was obvious she was feeling it too.
