Good independent director.

Hal Hartley. One of her strengths is her ability to deadpan. And that is the bread and butter of a Hal Hartley movie. And he has a great track record with actors and actresses. Many alums of his films are among my favorites (Martin Donovan and Elina Lowensoehn for example). And given how completely unknown most of his work is it is kinda surprising how many alums are now on different HBO series... especially the Sopranos including Edie Falco and Michael Imperioli.

Darren Aronofsky. He made Shawn Wayans look like an oscar contender. He's that good.

Jean-Pierre Jeunet. One of my favorite directors and City of Lost Children is one of my favorite movies ever. Of course his one black mark is the one english language hollywood film he made. Alien 4. So maybe he should just stick to the french stuff.

Todd Solondz. If you don't like Welcome to the Dollhouse then your childhood was probably way too happy. Happiness and Storytelling great films too.

Peter Greenaway. Incredibly creative even if a bit of a sick puppy. The cinematography of his movies is always AMAZING. And even if he puts his actors in uncomfortable and sometimes absurd situations gets the most out of them.

Mike Figgis. Next to Peter Greenaway does the best cinematography. And always gets good performances out of his cast even when the stories themselves seem at times misguided.

If we're talking about directors...it'd be awesome to see her do a movie in Spanish directed by Alfonso Cuaron or Pedro Almodovar.

I'm obsessed with Almodovar.

Ooh, she could be in them with Gael Garcia Bernal. Because he's amazing, and they could probably pull off playing siblings.

Or whatever.

I thought of mentioning Almodovar but I really havent liked the last few movies he's made. Same way (well actually far worse) I thought of Larry Clark because he really got great hard hitting performances in Bully, Another Day in Paradise, and Kids but his last two films were highly questionable. Teenage Caveman was straight out trash. And Ken Park at times was good but was ruined when it veered off to literally become straight out porn. The film definately justifed the past criticism of him that he shocks just for the sake of shocking.

I havent seen anything else Alfonso Cuaron has done besides Y tu Mama Tambien which of course was an excellent movie so I really can't judge him yet. Though apparently he directed the last Harry Potter movie (Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban). That's a little bit of a departure.

I'd love to see Alexis do a Spanish language film so here's a suggestion. And yes given this impossible to spell name I did cut & paste off imdb.

Alejandro González Iñárritu. He did the GREAT Oscar nominated Mexican film Amores Perros (with Gael Garcia Bernal btw) as well as the Oscar nominated 21 Grams last year.

I would love to see alexis with adam, milo and chad again. Colin Farrell and Jessica Alba would make a film with her perfect!

, but maybe with Rose Byrne(of Troya),or Mandy Moore(A Walk to Remember),or even the Olsen twins,because I would be exited to see how they would look or work together.But I also have to say that she and Lauren are a great pair on TV!A simply great "mother daughter" duo on TV.bye Pia

I just wanted to put in my bit about Amores Perros, which was crazy and disturbing and ohsodamngood.

And to say again that Alexis in a Spanish language movie would rock my socks.

Or, I dunno, some movie with a script written by someone transparently obsessed with death. And not in a goth way. In a philosophical, possibly quirky way.

Since you mention that it would be great to see Alexis in a Spanish language movie, I bring you this - an interview with author Sofia Quintero (Divas Don't Yield), in which she talks about wanting to see Alexis to play one of the roles in her book.

I dont know who I would like to see her work with, maybe Amber Tamblyn again cause they are so hilarious together but I don't know. I am quite happy with the people shes working with now. hehe maybe Vin Diesel, I think it would be funny to see them work together
