Thanks At the moment I'm all talked out.

He was written out of the will because he was caught by his aunt and cousin naked having sex with 4 of the debutant girls. His aunt (who wrote him out of the will and her daughter) had organised the ball, so when it came to the 'presenting' the 4 girls were not there, which resulted in 'disaster', and his aunt and cousin being outcast by society people. Basically it was a failure and everyone bitched them out about what a horrible event it was. I think thats what it was

I like where its heading. I'm actually starting to see their relationship develop more. Although I did not like him calling the maid 'Mary'

I know! I am too. I'm thinking of all the scenarios that could happen.

I don't remember the maids name, just that he flirted with her. But I assumed he called her 'Mary' because of the way she looks. I'm getting kind of suspicious though, I mean why was the maid in that scene with her comment and then him saying to Rory 'I'm not going to hurt you' or something like that.
