Rory in "But I'm a Gilmore"

Episode 5.19 - But I'm A Gilmore (from the spoilers board)

RORY MEETS LOGAN'S FAMILY - After Rory (Alexis Bledel) tells Logan (Matt Czuchry) that she can't have a casual relationship with him and they should go back to being just friends, she is amazed when Logan insists he is ready to commit to her. However, when he brings her home to meet his powerful and intimidating family, Rory is shocked by his parents' negative reaction to the relationship. The following day, Logan's father (guest star Gregg Henry) apologizes to Rory and offers her an internship at one of his newspapers. Meanwhile, when Sookie (Melissa McCarthy) is put on bed rest by her doctor, Lorelai (Lauren Graham) calls Luke (Scott Patterson) to fill in as the substitute chef at the Dragonfly Inn. Yanic Truesdale, Liza Weil, and Sean Gunn also star. The episode was written by Amy Sherman-Palladino and directed by Michael Zinberg

I'm excited to see the Rory/Logan interaction!

Sorry about that Maz.

So, any thoughts on this episode? I haven't yet seen the clips, so I can't comment.

Thank God ASP wrote this one. Thank God Rory was in it.

Even though I do not always agree with her decisions, I really am enjoying where her character is going. This episode, she was very likeable, realistic and funny-cute.

She was true to herself (clearly she's not casual, but she stated so calmly without whining), spinefully polite, reserved but not shy, respectfully and adorably independent with her mother, and empathic with the "remind me to tell you about the time my mother wore a shirt with a rhinestone penis on it and my grandma had her car towed."

Shallow thoughts. If only I woke up from a drunken night of vomit looking like Rory with her curly mocha tresses, long lashes and ultra-blue eyes. Any SoberGirl would covet HangoverRory's looks. With the non-GG-viewing public wondering if Alexis' eyes really are that blue after watching "Sin City," this episode should be proof enough. After 5 seasons, there are weeks I cannot help but exclaim when both Gilmore girls' eyes pop and zing. This was one of those weeks.

Favorite scene: Rory telling Lorelai in the kitchen and bedroom that she and Logan are now girlfriend and boyfriend. The shh-ing was so cute. Nuh uh uh uh.

OK, so I've seen almost the whole episode and I really liked what I saw.

About R/L...I'm a bit surprised that Logan wanted to commit. I seemed like a decision he made suddenly and didn't really think through (like Rory didn't think through the no-strings).

But then again he seemed really happy and excited about it, so maybe he is ready to commit.

I liked that Rory didn't seem jealous of the girl calling Logan or of the girl at the door (btw, loved Rory's comment: So the swedish flight attendant should be here any minute. ) Liked also that she wasn't angry at Logan or that she wasn't issuing an ultimatum. She just told him the truth that the no-strings didn't suit her. I wouldn't have liked it if she would've been whiny about it.

Loved the boyfriend/girlfriend discussion Rory had with her mother. Rory seemed kinda cocky (is that the right word?). Liked the head-kiss she gave Lorelai.

Also liked the interaction between Logan and his sister. Seemed like they were really close. Nice to see Logan defending her at dinner. Honor is probably the only likable member of the Huntzberger family. Logan's father seemed OK, but I was wondering a bit about his intentions when he offered the internship to Rory...

And one thing more. Paris is pre-med? What happened to her journalist career?

Whoa. Long post.

Why is it that Sweden gets to be known as the hot sexy country with loads of hot sexy chicks and Finland is.. well, not mentioned anywhere ever? We really need to start investing more in the porn industry..

i don't feel that Logan made the decision quickly. I mean it was, but i think it was coming. I think he didn't call Rory for a week because he was trying to convince himself that he was fine being no strings with her, having her but not having only her. but then he was placed with the prospect of having to go back to just friends and he reacted instictively. which i thought was way cute. i love the way logan talks.

i did love rory's mature way of dealing with logan. i was proud of her for not issuing any ultimatums.

I think in the epi "The Breakup, Part 2" Paris says she's majoring (sp?) in cancer research and something journalism I thought.

I loved this episode. Logan was such a sweetie deciding to commit to Rory. He stuck up for her at the Huntzberger dinner too. I love when he says I'm going to be an excellent boyfriend. favorite episode of r/l. one of my favorites.
