Rory in "Partings"

6.22 Partings

The WB: Stars Hollow is suddenly overrun with troubadours when news gets out that the town’s regular street performer has been discovered. On the evening of Logan’s graduation from Yale, Rory throws him a wild party, but the knowledge that he is being forced to leave for London the next day makes their time together bittersweet. Meanwhile, at a Friday night dinner, Emily and Richard attempt to set Christopher up with an attractive young woman. Finally, Lorelai decides she was wrong to let Luke postpone their wedding for so long and delivers a tearful ultimatum. Musical guests include Sonic Youth, Sam Phillips, Mary Lynn Rajskub, Yo La Tengo, Sparks, Joe Pernice and Dave Gruber Allen. Melissa McCarthy and Sean Gunn also star. The episode was written by Amy Sherman-Palladino & Daniel Palladino and directed by Amy Sherman-Palladino.

Last ep with ASP and DP. It sounds like a really good ep though.

ETA: Found this bit here: http://metromix.chicagotribune.com/t...elevision_heds But BEWARE - the article includes spoilers for this ep.

Quote:
Alexis Bledel, as Rory, displays some fine chops in a scene in which Rory confronts the arrogant father of her boyfriend.
That sounds promising.

I'm sad it's the last ep of ASP and DP. Should be an awesome ep .

There's one part in this ep, I'm not really looking forward to but I'm looking forward to Rory confronting Logans dad. Should be good. I can't wait until tomorrow when I see it.

Thanks for the link hun.

Even though i didn't enjoy L/L's SL and i hated Chris, the episode was amazing. The actors did a stupendous job in this episode, especially Lauren and Alexis. Alexis was just awesome, throughout the whole episode, especially the good-bye scene. Even though i don't ship R/L, i thought that scene was really wonderful and extremely sad. It made me want to cry. I loved the part when she runs to the door, and she sees him one last time before the elevator door closes. I really loved the part when he asked her to tell him to stay back and don't go to london. That was really bittersweet. Props to MC and AB for their awesome acting in all their scenes.

How great did Alexis look in the blonde wig!?!? I loved her party attire along with the brit accent! Also i really loved the scene with Mitchum and Rory in the elevator. You could see that Rory, finally understood Mitchum's intentions for Logan. Like I said wonderful episode!

hmmm... i think i'm slowly having this urge to ship R/L. oh no! Don't worry i will always love my literati. I think after this episode, and season I except R/L.

Good-bye, Farewell Amy-Sherman and Daniel Pallidino. Thank-you for those wonderful 6 years. You'll be greatly missed...

This epsiode was extremely sad. I just wanted to say that I thought Alexis did a really great job in her crying goodbye scene to Logan and it had me tearing up as well.

People don't usually seem to be impressed with Alexis' scenes, especially the crying ones, but it sounds like either they are finally warming to her or else she's actually improving!

The performance in this episode, plus what I have heard of her from "I'm Reed Fish" sound very promising, especially heading into what may be her last season. I hope it is, because I'm ready for the jump to the bigscreen.

Loved loved loved the Gilmorepalooza, ASP and DP going out with a wonderful musical bang!

Eppisode 6.22 Partings

Best Parts:
1. Lorelai telling Luke she Loved him.
2. The Trubidors I loves them and yes Libbie I think I spotted you.
3. Rory's Building very funny.
4. I liked the little cop, Taylor called.
5. The Party Rory thrugh very nice.
6. Sookie and Jackson trying to be quite not to wake Lorelai.
7. I thought Emily was Funny in this eppy espicaly when she yelled at the maid and ask if she fired her yet.
8. Miss Patty telling Luke to take dance and that he would look good in tights Luke's reaction was priceless.

Worse Parts:
1. The End. I hate Christoper I hate him. He took advantage of Lorelai. Lorelai was depressed and unstable and he took advantage of that he sleep with her and to me that is the same as Rape. I have lost all liking i had of the Bastard.
2. Luke not eloping right then and useing April as an excuse.
3. The talk between Michem and Rory I thought it was missing something and really didn't fit to me.
4. The Shrink giving Lorelai advice we all know if Lorelai had not talked to her she would not have given Luke the Ultimatum.
5. I didn't like Lorelai avoiding Luke.
6. Rory british accent at the party I found it a little lame.
7. Chris Running in the bath room he could have knocked.
8. Logan leaving
9. The Fact that this is the last eppy till September.

Over all it was a good eppisode I give it a 7 basicly because it made me hate a character I used to like.

I loved all of Alexis' work this episode. From the confrontation with Mitchum and the end scene. I figured the British accent was supposed to be lame since Logan called her on it. But she was so cute and funny.

I liked the look on her face when she told Logan that she couldn't tell him not to go. I figure that she really did absorb and understand what Mitchum was saying.

And of course her crying in the last scene. Not just the tears but the way her face just crumpled and she was struggling for words. Got me all worked up it was so sad. And I'm not really a shipper.

Definitely looking forward to I'm Reed Fish.

Liked the conversation between Rory and Mitchum. He doesn't seem so bad after all. And it was cute how Rory was so excited about Logan graduating.

And her British accent was adorable, as was her outfit! And I thought the R/L bits were very sweet. And the goodbye scene was very touching IMO. I thought they both did really well in that scene.

The troubadour bits were fun. And the L/L bits were so sad.

Yeah, I don't know which it is. I've actually had no problem with her crying scenes, at least I can't remember that they would have been bad...And I know that she's not a experienced actress like Lauren Graham or Kelly Bishop, but I still think she has been doing a great job all along.

All in all, I thought it was a good ep.

From all of Rory's crying scenes, this was her best.. and I think she's just improving a lot as an actress.. Alexis has been given a lot of different opportunities for an actor to develop and she's done it amazingly.. and in season 1 she also did a good job IMO, the innocent girl and all of that.. I think she's just improving such as Lauren also did over the years and all the actors on the show...

I agree Karen.

ETA: Found this here: http://veronica-mars.tvsquad.com/200...rtings-finale/

The Rory/Logan plot had its moments: I liked Rory's elevator confrontation with Mitchum, where she finally finds out that Logan's being sent away for his own good, to get away from the Life and Death Brigade idiots. The Brit-themed party she threw for Logan was cool, especially her bad accent. And, in some of the best acting I've ever seen Alexis Bledel do, her crying as Logan leaves for the airport the next morning showed that Rory knew she had to let him go, even if she didn't want him to leave.
I agree with this writer completely.
