7.19 It's Just Like Riding A Bike

Soon after stopping into the diner for the first time since the breakup, Lorelai asks Luke to go with her while she shops for a new car, but the outing ends in a big fight. Meanwhile, Paris gets accepted to several medical and law schools, and decides to end her relationship with Doyle so that he won't be a factor in her decision; and Rory receives a letter that will alter her future.

I hope that there will be good Rory scenes! The description of the episode barely mentions her, but I hope that is not an indication of her role in the episode!

I feel so sad for Rory. Not getting the fellowship must have crushed her.

I felt bad for her too. I've been in a similar situation, and it's not a nice feeling.

But it's gonna be interesting to see how she handles this, and what other options she will have.

I thought it was an OK ep, not as good as last weeks though. Very few Rory scenes...I thought the Paris scenes were good though. Especially the one in the bar.

And I really liked the LL interaction as well.

i really felt bad for rory seeing other people with acceptance letters and waiting. and then, at the end - the rejection. it's especially hard for her because she'd never received a "no" from anyone. on the other hand, I'm sure that she'll work it out. the interesting thing is to know how it'll work out with logan and his plans. their whole "factor each other in" idea... are they so much in love that they can sacrifice their dreams to be together?

See I felt bad for Rory but I'm glad she never got in at the Times. It would have been just to easy if she did and well life is not that simple.

That is very true. And it gives us an interesting Rory storyline (hopefully!), seeing her deal with it and choose another job.

Exactly. She's only young. Not everyone knows where they are gonna end up after they are done University. She knew where she wanted to be. But things don't always work out as planed. What you want is not necessarily what you need.

I actually don't think this is the only place she applied. I mean when she was debating whether or not to take the job in Providence she mentioned that other papers had her resume as well. So I assumed that the Time was not the only place, but it was the one she really wanted.
