Remember how I was thinking that by the looks of Shohreh Aghdashloo that she'd be playing Lena's mom? Well if I had bothered to look at the full casting details on imdb I'd have seen that Lena's mom is actually being played by a lady named Rebekah Aramini. I wonder how much story-time they're giving her character.

I don't know how much story-time the mothers will get in this film.

She looks pretty and seems like a good choice for Lena's mom - looks-wise that is.

How much is she in the story in the books? Anyone know (without giving any spoilers)?

I don't remember about the third book right now but as far as the second one, Effie, Lena's sister, is in the book twice as much as Lena's mom is. It'll probably be the same for the movie, idk. Although Effie was in the first book quite a lot and she never made the movie so I really don't know, lol.

I am half way through the first book and love it. Lena in the book is great and I think Alexis did a great job portraying this complex character.

I've read the first three books and you're right, Alexis does do a good job portraying Lena. But at the same time I thought that maybe she'd do an even better job if the movie was an extra hour long then she'd be allowed to delve into more of the intricate facets that made Lena's character so interesting. I mean there's a lot a lot of back-story to her character and we didn't get all of that in the film. But yeah, I agree that Alexis does a good job with it and I'll be there to see her in the second one too.

I agree there was a lot of back story that we didn't get to see in the movie, the things that would explain why Lena was the way she was. I can't wait to see Alexis in the second movie I will definitely be there too

Yeah, in the movie we see her for what she is and we accept her for that but in the book we actually get to go into why she's that way and that's a lot of fun for me.
