Kate was a good character though she wasn't that interesting IMO, Alexis didn't have much to work with in this movie.

Something like that. Although she was the one engaged to the guy so in a way it was the other girl who was "the other woman".

Well, that's true. The other girl and the guy were childhood sweethearts who still had feelings for each other, so... I guess it depends on how you look at it.
