Rory in "Women of Questionable Morals"

Women of Questionable Morals

Wanting to make peace with Rory, Christopher shows up at Yale, but she brushes off his attempt at reconciliation. When Lorelai learns that Christopher's father passed away, she spends an evening at his place trying to console him, then neglects to tell Luke the truth about where she was. Meanwhile, Emily and Richard are briefly reconciled when they take in a lost dog. Finally, Luke brings Lorelai her own portable skating pond, and the Stars Hollow annual Revolutionary War reenactment takes on a racy new twist.

I noticed no one opened an ep discussion thread yet. I haven't seen the ep yet...it's d/ling, but I cant wait!

Well, no one else has posted in here so I will.

I though Rory (Alexis) looked very pretty in the episode. I felt bad for Chris when he was trying to reach out to her, but Rory wasnt thinking about anything but her anger at the moment. I know how not having a father around can cause those feelings because I've seen how my sister is with hers - I can't blame her for it. It's nice that she went to go see him afterwards with the milk and cookies. I saw nothing wrong with her encouraging Lorelai to go. She shouldn't have told Lorelai to lie to Luke about it, but Lorelai can make her own decisions. So, that is not Rory's fault IMHO.

Other than that I love the new previews. When Logan gets up from the table and leaves her there she looks...sad? I can't think of a word but the look on her face makes me feel so sorry for her.

Haven't seen the episode yet, but read a re-cap of it and it sounded good. And not to bash on Rory ('cause I love her!), but IMO she did the wrong thing when she didn't give Lorelai the chance to tell Luke about spending the night with Chris. Or did I get something wrong?

What do you guys think?

I agree, i dont think Rory should have lied to Luke for Lorelai. Its not right and not what i expect from Rory. I mean she kinda took the decision out of Lorelai's hand by lying already and then Lorelai felt more at ease to go along with it. I dunno, i wish she didn't do that.

But other than that I noticed there was quite less Rory in this episode. She seemed like she was hardly in it, which was weird.

I liked her scenes with Chris but I would have liked to see her actually inside with Chris and see them resolve things rather than see her go in and come out.

Im looking forward to RL next week. I really wanna see the promo. Not sure if its online yet. Ill go check.

I wish she hadnt did it either. I felt like reaching through the screen and giving her a nice chop, but Lorelai couldve told the truth later.

I felt like there werent a lot of Rory scenes either. Next week should be better.

I think she decided that maybe asking Lorelai to go over there hadn't been such a good idea after all, and was just trying to end discussion on is ASAP. Yeah, next week shoul be great!

I thought this episode was pretty good. I also didn't like the fact that she lied to Luke espicially since she gave Lorelai a hard time about lying to him about lunch with Chris a few eps back. There was a lot less Rory and hopefully next week will make up for it.

It sure is! You can find the promo here. I'm looking forward to the next episode as well. It looks like Rory's storyline will be more substantial than it was in this week's episode.

Rory may not have helped the Lorelai-Chris-Luke situation, but ultimately, we are all responsible for our own actions. Which means, when Lorelai LIED directly to Luke's face, after he had confronted her about her lying, that was Lorelais' and not Rory's culpability.

Plus, mainly, Rory was racked with guilt, but Luke is not her boyfriend, and she has nothing to hide. Sometimes, these girls have such a huge schism between what is appropriate and what is not, a middle compromise does not seem logical to them, as much as it does to us. Oh well.

Superfically first, I thought Rory looked stunning. I seriously love her hair! (It's weird how much I have said that in recent times.) And the clothes... if people are not starting to see she's definitely become a beautiful young woman, and not just a cute girl, surely they are blind!

Character-wise, I did not find anything Rory did out of line. It wasn't ideal, but I cannot go on bashing her like many people on other boards or even this one. We're all human. She blew off Christopher, she knew it, but I can understand why she did so. Then later, she felt horrible, and reacted in a very compassionate way, I thought, in understanding he is human and needs support just like any other human. Personally, I thought that was great. But yeah, the lying to Luke... well, those girls have little concept sometimes of what is appropriate, but that does not mean I'm going to rake their personas over hot coals. Maybe I'm too lenient.

Yes, a big no-no to bashing! Maybe it wasn't such a huge thing that Rory didn't let Lorelai tell the truth to Luke the first time, but it was something I reacted to. And Lorelai is a grown woman, so if she would've wanted to tell the truth, she probably would have.

Totally agree here!

I dont think its bashing her in saying that she shouldn't have lied to Luke. I mean i dont hate her for it or anything but thought she shouldn't have done it. But yes it is still Lorelai's choice to continue to lie to Luke and i dont put that on Rory.

Rory did look great this episode. I love her hair too. Its so cute. And she's definately all grown up now. Even tho she wasnt that young when the show started she always looked really really young.

I cant wait till next weeks episode. the RL storyline sounds so good.

Oh, I don't think that was bashing! I said it myself too and I think it's OK to comment on things like that. As long as it doesn't go overboard. And it never has IMO on this board at least.

The no-no for bashing was generally speaking.

I love her hair when it's wavy. And I cannot wait for some R/L!
