All About Marcia

- She was born on March 25th 1962 in Marlborough, Massachussetts.
- Her nickname growing up was 'Messy Marcia' because of the fact that she's so unorganized.
- She first decided she wanted to be an actress in the sixth grade whilst performing in a school play.
- She graduated high school early, and was accepted at the Juillard School in New York as a Drama Major.
- She's 5'10, a natural redhead and she actually has blue eyes, not green eyes.
- Before Desperate Housewives, she was most famous for playing the beautiful yet nutty Dr Kimberly Shaw (Mancini) in Melrose Place.
- In 2002 she earned a Master's Degree in Psychology from Antioch University in California.
- She was actually a practising therapist before accepting a season long role in Everwood in 2003, and was planning to give up on her acting career altogether!
- Apparently, her least favourite part of her own body is "her ass" (whhhy?)
- In 2006 she was included on E!'s list of the 50 Most Wicked Women on Primetime in the role of Kimberly Shaw.
- Recently she was included on VH1's list of 40 Hottest over 40.
- Her nicknames on the set of DH include 'The Body' (which the guys christened her after the infamous lingerie scene), and 'Mama Marcia' (used by Shawn Pyfrom who plays her onscreen son, Andrew).
- She has been married to stockbroker Tom Mahoney since June 2006.
- Marcia and Tom have two children, twin girls Eden and Savannah, born on 20 February 2007.
