I think it would be nice to have in the post count threads (every month) the number of posts the board had at that moment so that the people can see how well the board is doing in the next month...

I don't think posters use fonts that often really though and it could make some OP's look much more unique and decorated.. You know like 'Broadway' or 'Palace'.
Yeah but not everyone has those fonts, for example I personally don't believe I have 'Palace' on my computer - therefore it would change it to something else for me and any other posters who don't have it.

Hey Steffi!

I'm not sure I understand what you mean

It's something that would have to be manually marked down for each board. If you go to the individual boards the mods often keep track. Or you could just jot down the total post number yourself either late on the last day of the month, or early on the 1st and you'd have a good ballpark figure.

but if you have to do it manually... then how do you count it? I mean it must be saved somewhere right?

We did them manually until a couple of years ago. Each Mod Manager was assigned a category and we wrote down all the post counts for that category. Believe me, it was pretty tedious. Then Leif wrote a script that would do the counts for each month automatically. Jerry still does the new board post counts manually. So yes, the info for individual boards is somewhere, it's just not in a list format that's easy to copy and paste elsewhere.

There are so few smilies here (in my opinion that is) and I'd like to suggest some more:

Even after you view the 'More' button that's displayed when you don't use quick reply? The help one is kind of cute, but we already have a

Johnnie is in charge of smilies. I'm not sure if he keeps a list of suggestions to take into consideration. I'd suggest that you make sure that would be free to add them before you contact him. We wouldn't want to get into trouble for stealing somebody else's property.

^^ That would be the biggest concern I assume, is making sure you're not stealing anyone else's work.

All of those are from German smilie sites that display them for other board owners to use (for free). All of those smilies I have seen on several other large forums as well, especially the banana, the help sign, the poke and the tongue one.

Edit: I rechecked: They are free to use as long as they are not hotlinked and not all of the smilies are copied (there are more than 1000) from the site. A link is only necessary if certain smilie set codes they offer for some boards are used, but this wouldn't be the case here.

I've always thought we need a sad sigh and a pensive smilie (although kinda looks like that nowadays).

I've always thought that having a sad sigh smiley would be good, too. To me the one is rather hopeful and happy, and doesn't really convey what *sigh* really means.. It's more sarcastic. I guess and sort of come close, but they're not quite it either...
