Info Center - Signature problems!

I've ALWAYS had problems with my signature on this board. What exactly constitues 5 lines? To my eyes, I'm seeing 5 lines left to right and it's telling me to make it 5 lines

So I edited it and it was 4 lines and then it told me again 5 lines.

What is the deal? I would like to change my avatar but to give credit to the person who mades one I have to put their name in my signature and this user CP thing will not let me do that

It should be easy to change my signature whenever I like. But it's not, so I just left it alone and eventually just left the board. Now I'm back and so are the signature problems.

I see plenty of people with lengthy signatures

Sometimes deleting everything, then saving that, then starting from scratch will make it work. I've PMed you to see if I can help.

Another reason you might be seeing that is if your signature exceeds 600 characters (including the formatting). Are you able to copy paste your code into a word counting program (like Microsoft word) or something? Then you can check if that is the reason. Though it looks like your sig is not too complex..

If that isn't it, is it possible that you have too much on one of the lines? Maybe one of the lines is becoming two in the default screen size making it count as two?

I suggest the same thing. I had the same issue a few weeks ago and when I deleted everything, saved that, then went back and re-entered my siggy and saved, it did - no issues.

Good to know. I'm always having these problems but I never dared to ask.

I was looking for this thread.

This doesn't nesissarily count as a problem. But does anyone have an opinion on how my signature looks.

It seems pretty plain, but I don't know what I could do to enhance it.

And sometimes plain is a good way to go...you know, not overdoing it

Well that's what I thought, keep it simple.

But I've seen some that have these cool indents and quotes and it gives me ideas.

But I think I've decided, for now anyway, to stick to putting in links of what I'm currently supporting and WHEN (

) we get a Ryan Reynolds board, I may shorten it up with a quote or something.

There are some really great signatures out there, really creative!

I also see a lot of people with more than 5 lines in their sigs and I wonder how they do it!

It seems to me that when you put you sig in the center then the ammount of lines you can have decreases or at least thats how its been for me.

I had a sig with links and a 2 line quote. I changed the colour, and suddenly it was too long. And I shortened and shortened it and it kept saying it was too long. I had to totally eliminate the quote to fit it

All from changing the colour

Certain formats or placement of smilies

can make it look like the sig has more lines.

Sometimes if you totally delete your sig, save it, then put it back it will work.
