Thanks, Jen. I'm having a blonde moment today, and I'm not a blonde. Oh well. I think this is what happens when I don't get any jobs for a week.

Have fun Jen!

hehe ... you could give Charisma a preview of the new look for her board here.

Post secondary education systems seem to vary around the world. In the States they tend to use 'college' and 'university' interchangeably, whereas in Canada there's a distinct difference. Colleges tend to be more oriented towards a specific occupation while universites are more general knowledge.

I could do I'm not sure if my printer is working right now, but I'll have a look.

I don't think we have anywhere in the UK where you can study a range of different subjects. You can however, major in one subject & minor in the other.

I tend to only use the word college if it's part of the school's name and even then, I tend to just go with the first part. For example, I won't say that I'll apply to college next year, but I'll say I'll be applying to university. However right now I go to Dawson. If I'm talking to someone who knows about the community centre here that's also named Dawson, I'll call the school Dawson College.

College here is what you go to when you're 16-18... well you can choose to go to College or stay at school for the last 2 years like I did. Also, some Universities are called 'University College' like my University was 'Canterbury Christ Church University College' until last year when it was upgraded to 'Canterbury Christ Church University'

Chris--college and university are used interchangeably in the US. The difference for the most part, is the size of the school and what happens there.

Colleges, for the most part, are just for Bachelor's Degrees. Universities have both Bachelor's programs and then Master's and/or Doctorate programs as well.

Jen--enjoy the weekend away and meeting Charisma and James!

No problem, Janet. That's the general rule, but I think there might be some exceptions. We're a bit nuts about post-secondary education.

You'd need to see Trailer Park Boys to know what I'm talking about.
