Bah. It's me again...
This past week I've had a bunch of problems pop up and it only seems reasonable that so many problems at once mean a virus, but so far, none of my scans (Avast, MalwareBytes) have yielded anything. Here's the deal. - I get warnings saying "The application or DLL [insert whatever program here (ie. Mozilla Firefox)] is not a valid Windows Image". How's that? - Other warnings are "The application failed to initialize properly", or "Insufficient system resources exist to complete this request." I am only at 33% capacity. - I get blank or black My Document files - Blank Start Menu or blank MSN conversations, even though I just typed - Extreme lag in streaming - And my Welcome settings load very slow. Restarting usually stops all this for a few hours, but it comes back after a while. Is my baby sick, is it something I can fix - I just had it reformatted less than a year ago, and I really don't want to do it again -, or is it dying (because it's at least 8 years old)? Any help would be awesome. |

Hmm... the only thing I can think of is something you could have possibly downloaded? Is there anything recently that you d/l that gave you problems? Maybe you could un-install that?
Hopefully someone with more knowledge swings by. |

Could be you profile screwing up. Can you try creating another account and see if you have the same issues with it?

I had issues with a Trojan a few months back and it messed up the everyday account on the PC, not letting me visit certain websites to fix the problem. Logged into the admin account and all was well.
I'd say it's a virus or trojan of some kind. __________________

I'm sorry, I don't know what else to say. You may need to to take it to a specialist. I hope you get it shorten out soon.

Me again, but this time it's not my problems! Yay!
I was given a computer (a Dell Dimension 2400) to fix (I don't know why people want me to fix their computers, it's not like I know what I'm doing). It seems like a relatively simple fix, they can't connect to the internet. The following message pops up: Windows could not detect any wireless or wired network card installed on this machine. Please check to make sure the drivers are installed properly or contact the manufacturer for further assistance. Now, the computer once had internet, obviously, and it seems to me that all I'm missing are drivers that need to be reinstalled...? Am I right? The downside is the computer was a hand-me-down from a previous owner and no CD was given with the drivers on it... can those be downloaded somewhere? Am I completely off base? |
