Fan Forum's 21st Anniversary Celebration!
Fan Forum is celebrating it's 21st anniversary!

Fan Forum was started on Thanksgiving weekend in November of 1998.
From the beginning, our members have been responsible
for shaping the site by voting for the boards they'd like to see added,
posting on the boards to generate discussions,
and then volunteering to moderate, customize and promote
the boards to contribute to their success.
Besides thanking all of our members for their support over the years,
I'd like to thank our Site Administrators:
Leif/Goldenboy for starting and continuing to fund the site,
Jerry/Jerry D for his day to day leadership over the past 16 years.

"What I love most about being on the Communications Team is getting the opportunity to highlight celebrations around Fan Forum. It makes me so happy to see boards celebrating posting milestones and anniversaries! As I look for affiliates, I find sites and blogs to follow and bookmark for myself on topics that I love. I have found some wonderful sites of certain celebrities, shows, and topics I wouldn't have seen if we weren't affiliated with them. Like the thread tags here, site affiliates are quite useful for fandom communities."

"What I love most about being on the Graphics Team is getting the opportunity to create art and being challenged in my art skills. I love enjoying the art of others and I am surrounded by the most talented artists on Fan Forum! It is a true honor to be on this team. I always get excited to see the boards customized and how color breathes life on the boards. I have learned a lot from the members of this team, and everyone has been very sweet and patient with me. We have worked with some difficult pictures and pictures from different photoshoots/events, where matching skin tones have been necessary. Though it's not always easy to do, it is rewarding."

"I enjoy being on the Graphics Team because it means being part of the team that gives our forums their own identity and makes them beautiful and fun. I love seeing all the members' interpretations of what a board's graphic should look like while honoring what the mods and posters wish for. Seeing the customizations go up and the posters' reaction to them is always fun too. It's been a great experience being on this team and I'm hoping I'll be able to do it for many years to come."

"For me, being a MST, it's very different and I like it because if I couldn't be on site longer then someone else can help you out and interact with other posters that they haven't, but yet, it shows that we can be there as long it's flexible routine to do as long I like to interact with the posters on my boards.."

"Becoming a MST has been an amazing experience, one which I've come back to twice now after life has gotten in the way. Its a wonderful chance to get to help out boards in need, as well as explore :ff: & find new fandoms. It provides an opportunity to post on boards you don't normally post on, & make new friends around the site. I still have fond memories of how welcoming & friendly everyone at my very first assignment (back in 2011) was. Then I've been able to have a lot more fun on so many other boards, including fandoms I'm not even a part of. As well as been introduced to new things while I'm there. Then getting to help boards in need & help set up new boards is also a wonderful feeling too :love:"

"What I like most about being in the Moderator Support Team is getting to visit boards I otherwise might not have posted at, and meeting new people there. It really makes me glad to know I can help the boards and its posters out as a temp mod :) "

"What I love most about being on the Moderator Support Team is getting the opportunity to help other moderators when they are away. While we are often assigned to boards familiar to us, the times we are not have been wonderful too. I've discovered boards I enjoy because of the people on those boards and begin to watch the TV show or grow a love towards the topic of the board. I love getting to discuss things with so many different fanbases. It is also fun to be assigned to brand new boards and get the chance to start a new board with other fans."

"what I like about my duties is the privileges that come with it. Such as having my displayed name in bold letters, or the crowns underneath it instead of stars. The possibility of keeping your board clean and organized by being able to delete and merge every (not just your own) post and even threads is a feature I love and use very often."

"What I love most about being on the Moderators Team is getting the opportunity to moderate boards for topics I love to discuss. As a moderator, I am given the chance to come up with new discussion ideas and generate ideas for fun events related to the topic of the board. Celebrating milestones and anniversaries are special and makes me feel pride for the accomplishments I had a part in achieving. Making decisions with others and leading a board have been fun. I also have made friendships through moderating various boards here."

"As someone with a long-time passion for literature, I think what I enjoy the most about being a Moderator Team Member is the fulfilment of expressing my innermost thoughts analytically with other people who have similar interests. Moderating Movies and a Television show board allows me to share my views about different genres and characters in ways that you don't always get to in a general conversation outside of FanForum. Also, the responsibility of checking the boards daily shapes you into a disciplined person, which I am grateful for."
