I was lucky because when my Mum was younger she had pen pals who she went to Europe to meet up with and believes that meeting up with people online is pretty much the same thing. However, when I went to Croatia to visit Fortyseven when I was 17, she did send my Brother with me for a few days to make sure I was fine.

Now I'm 21 though she lets me make my own decisions - she even supported the idea of me going to Florida for 2 weeks last Feb to meet up with 4N6DNA who I'd never met before in real life.

I'm still trying to find out when my Reading Week is. The dates aren't up yet, the only dates they have are the general term dates. I don't think it's likely that I'll be able to come but I hope everyone that does go has a great time and hopefully if another one is arranged somewhere down the line I can come.

I just broached the subject with my dad. As expected, he was cautious. He started off by saying he'd only let me go if I met up with someone like Yvonne (snatches of sunshine) beforehand, but I put it all across to him quite well and mentioned what you said about maybe meeting up to go, and he said he'll think about it It's the most positive reply I'm gonna get right now But it's a start!

Maybe I can meet up with you somewhere first in a safe, public location and then you could say that you have met me in the UK first.

That might be a help Which part of the UK are you from? I understand my parent's worries but I don't doubt anyone here isn't who they say they are. I've never spoken anyone here, hardly, that I haven't gotten on with or felt wary of.
