I'm back! That's it for me with my summer break. Typhoon season starts here in June so not a lot to do here vacation-wise until November which means, time to plan some out of the country trips then.

Welcome back Lindsay! Did you do anything exciting at the beach?

I can't imagine trying to deal with a typhoon or tornado.

Welcome back Linsday!

This week has been weird. Not sick anymore, thankfully but my internet has been going out and a call to my service provider told me that they are doing maintenance work in the area and to expect it to go off and on periodically for the rest of the week.

It's annoying, as I won't know when it will go out, but point is, posting will be even more sporadic because of it.

Hope everyone is well!

Imagine getting a snow storm every 2 weeks in 6 months. On average we get one typhoon a month, two if mother nature hates us. Last year we only got 1 typhoon in 6 months which was very unusual. And that was a Cat 1 storm which isn't even the usual Cat 5 storm we get here so yeah...very odd.

Chris, not much but this beach has more waves than the one I went to before so good beach for surfing but I'm not the surfing type of girl.

Millie, glad to know you're feeling much better now. Being sick sucks.

Have a great week ahead everyone!

hmm ... 1 in November to get us started, then I don't really remember December other than knowing that we'd have a white Christmas, then 1 or 2 a week for the first 6 weeks of the year, then it tapered off a bit ... and winter came back the end of March, early April ... but that's unusual. Overall though, I'd much rather deal with the snow than your typhoons.

We're in the process of putting new carpet in the family room. Helped hubby pull up the old stuff yesterday. It was completely glued down to the concrete, so it was a bigger job than we were expecting. He'll get started on laying the new stuff today.

Yea we had 2 back to back major snow storms in January cause I remember it took me 2 days each storm to clear the snow from the house so 2 storms = 4 days in a row of snow shovelling

Yeah, this past winter was really harsh.

Apparently laying carpet requires lots of grunting and groaning. Not really complaining because I certainly wouldn't want to do it.

Oh probably a "men's thing" too related to the grunting and groaning but could imagine it would cause it

I imagine typhoons are more dangerous than snow. Hopefully you don't get any that are too bad, Lindsay.

Changing out the carpet is a very physical and labor intensive job.

Snow storms are just as bad, I think. Blizzards, those are dangerous right? But yeah, as long as snow doesn't come like a Cat 5 typhoon, that's okay.

Ugh, changing carpets is very tiresome. We got rid of the carpet at home back when I was a kid because it was collecting dust and it set off allergies for the family. My family has a long history of allergies. I use an ionizer in my room because of the weather here since every time I wake up, I sneeze a lot.

Blizzards can be very dangerous especially white-out situations
