I'm hearing more people I know getting the flu. I got it before Christmas so I am in the clear! Sorry everyone is sick in your house, Amy. Also thanks!

Today was a much calmer day for our standards. We had a student that doesn't normally have a meltdown, have one today. He was crying and screaming in the hallway, yelling at us to leave him alone. Clearly that wasn't an option with him so worked up. It all started with a multiplication math computation and it's sad to hear him say he thinks he is stupid. He puts himself down a lot when he is upset. He makes high scores on all his tests. As a Special Education teacher, I see him mostly for social skills over academics because he excels on those. He doesn't harm himself or others so he was able to calm down eventually at lunch.

I hope the meeting for your mom goes well, Chris!

TFTNT Amy!

Getting a bit busy at work now, month end is next week.

Cece, did you inform the parents about this? They'll probably either won't believe you or believe you. It's 'normal' for kids to act this way but it's still bad behavior. I literally tell off my nephew for pushing me everytime we say no to him but if he bites me, I'd really tell his mom.

It already exploded. No ash fall here, we've very far. In my entire lifetime, I've only witnessed one volcano eruption. That one is back in the 90's, we got a thin blanket of ash fall, much like snow but it looks gray. Nothing major and zero casualties considering that was one of the world's most powerful eruptions. Here's a picture of the eruption from yesterday. Beautiful but scary.
Leanne - we live near a volcano too but it has been dormant for centuries. They said that it's still "active" but not as active as the other volcanoes we have here.

oh wow Lindsay! Hope not too many people were around the fall out and ash cloud. Glad that you were far enough away to not get any ash. I think volcanoes are considered active if they have erupted in the 10,000 years.

Sarah - so sorry that you had to miss your appointment I hope you start feeling better soon and that you're able to get back in quicker than you thought.

Chris - I hope your appointment for your mom went well.

Cece - sounds like your days are work are busy and hetic but fulfilling at the end of the day.

Hi Lizzy, Leanne, and Theresa

I feel like I am getting over the cold I hate being sick so I am glad for that.

Lindsay - wow @ that pic! Glad you're safe.

The meeting for mom went well yesterday. She's been accepted for the rehab programme, which is what we wanted. However it does mean that she'll be there for another 2-3 weeks.

Going Sarah's way today to visit the in-laws.

Amy, Lizzy, Cece, Sarah

Oh yeah, which would mean most of our volcanoes are active here.

That's good news and 2-3 weeks might be a long time but she will need it.

That's good news, Sarah! Wednesday will be here soon.

I am going away this weekend for a friend's birthday. The weekend snuck up on me TBH.

Have a great weekend everyone!

Good morning all.

Enjoy your weekend Lizzy!

Lindsay - yes, I'm sure that mom will need that long to work on regaining her strength. What type of vacation do you have planned?

Sarah - I thought you won some money earlier this month? Only a few more days until Wednesday.
