Here we go: We keep wanting to have a party, well here are some tricks and some help in order to do it right. :)

Long Island Iced Tea

The original recipe, supposedly concocted by Long Island bartender Robert 'Rosebud' Butt in the late 1970s

Dish Details:

INGREDIENTS:

1 measure gin
1 measure light rum
1 measure tequila
1 measure triple Sec
1 measure vodka
2 measures fresh lemon juice
1 tsp sugar
cola
lemon wedge

PREPARATION:

Shake together all the ingredients except the cola and lime wedge. Pour into a chilled Collins glass (any tall glass will do) with ice, pour over the coke, stir gently and top with the lime wedge.

Mojitas

A favourite in the bars of Cuba, and, like the Daiquiri, forever associated with the great drinker and writer Ernest Hemingway

Dish Details:

INGREDIENTS:

1 tsp sugar
4 sprigs mint
juice of 1 lime
ice
1 measure light Havana rum
soda water or lemonade

PREPARATION:

Muddle the sugar and 3 sprigs of mint together in a tall hi-ball glass. Add the ice, squeeze in the lime juice, and pour in the rum and soda. Stir and garnish with the remaining mint.

I found a great site with gobs of goodies, i'll post them in spurts. That way others can post fun stuff. We can post recipes, party ideas, party music that would be good. We can even invite the girls. :)

Cosmopolitan Recipe
The Cosmopolitan has always been popular and has recently starred in the T.V. series "Sex in the City" as Carrie Bradshaw's favourite cocktail.

2 tablespoons of Vodka
1½ tablespoons of Cointreau (Triple sec)
1½ tablespoons of Cranberry juice
2 teaspoons of freshly squeezed lime juice
crushed ice
twist of lime
Combine the Vodka, Cointreau, cranberry juice, lime juice and crushed ice in a cocktail shaker. Gently shake and strain into a cocktail glass. Garnish with a twist of lime.


I shall also bring the SATC dvd's. Shall we start with season 1? Or go by everyone's favorite episode?

We should start it at the beginning and have a whole marathon. Imagine how crazy that would be. ;)
