What don't you understand? The streets for one thing are so much more complicated than NY.

I think I just never really spent enough time there to get a good feel for London. it feels similar to New York in some ways, in that just spending a few days there, i'll never get a sense of the city, just the tourist attractions. Its just so metropolitan and seems to have its own rhythm, thats hard to see when I'm just going to art galleries and castles and things. I sort of have the same feeling about New york -- people can come and visit and see all the attractions, but so much about new york is in the details and the people that you won't see otherwise. its what I love about SatC in part, because it captures the details.

and Suz, you should totally come visit!

I understand what you mean. When I went to NY I had such a breath-taking experience. I used to just walk and take everything in.

yeah, it is pretty expensive to spend new years in new york, especially if you don't have a place to stay. hotel rates go way up at that time. I've only done hte times square thing once, but i had a blast despite the fact that it was freezing.

at the moment, i only have one tiny room, but if i can ever afford a bigger place . . . although that might just be a fantasy considering NY prices.
