Episode Discussion- 104 "Valley of the Twenty-Something Guys"
Valley of the Twenty-Something Guys Directed by: Alison Maclean Written by: Michael Patrick King Carrie discovers the limitations of going out with a twentysomething hunk. Charlotte's boyfriend has a sexual favor to ask; Samantha comes to the sobering realization that she'll always be older than her boy toy. "There are no available men in their thirties in New York. Giuliani had them removed along with the homeless." -Miranda 'Are men in their twenties the new designer drug?' Carrie dates a twenty-something hunk as she tries to determine why a certain forty-something man is so complicated; Charlotte fears becoming Mrs.Up the Butt; Samantha gets rid of her boy toy when he notices the wrinkles in her neck; Miranda tolerates Skipper I knew HBO would be great when I went in there and pictched them our first season. I said "Charlotte's dating a guy who wants to have anal sex but she doesn't want to become Mrs.Up the Butt." I though they are going to either laugh at me or throw me out of the office. And he laughed. - Darren Star [Kiss & Tell, satc book] This was one of the perfect episodes of all time. It had the anal sex discussion. Carrie seeing Big, Carrie going home with the twenty-something, walking down the street shopping, seeing Big in front of the Stanhope, Big running after her, them talking, her bring in control and then saying, "It would have been so cool if I hadn't looked back." From start to finish, it's a great episode.- Sarah Jessica Parker [Kiss & Tell, satc book] |
I never understood the whole Miranda/Skipper "relationship" (if you want to call it that).

Curiosity would've killed me too. I would've had to look back to see if he was looking.
|
 I loved that line, and that entire scene between the two! ITA You would have to look back
|
I was just looking at the picture in the opening post and boy is Kristin Davis flexible! I never have been able to touch my toes after all these years. I would've done what SJP was doing ... bending my knees.

 I know me too!! She must do yoga alot!

I was watching this episode the other day and I have to say, I would have been repulsed if I woke up in a guys apartment and it was as filthy as the "twenty-something" guys. Ew.

I think that Miranda just enjoyed the fact that Skipper was into her and she could basically have him at a moment's notice. I wonder why he seemed to just fall off the face of the earth, too.
Yep, his roommate came walking into the kitchen and caused her to scream. He was gross, so it was no wonder why their apartment looked the way it did. |

I never liked Skipper either. He just didn't "fit." He really didn't serve much purpose after S1 anyway.
|
I didn't like Skipper either.
I love the last scene in this episode. A classic B/C scene :D  |
I've just squeezed in 5 seasons of SatC within a matter of days, so can you refresh my memory on the last scene of the episode, diana?
|
sure... that's when she just left her college-messy-guy's apparment and she runs into Big and his friends having breakfast. She gives him him an answer to a crossword puzzle. She walks away, and he runs after her and asks her on a real date.
remember now? :D |
