"Is motherhood a cult?"

The girls go to a baby shower for their old friend, Laney. Carrie is late with her period but unsure whether she wants her pregnancy test to be positive or negative. Charlotte learns that Laney has stolen her prized secret baby name, and Laney yearns for her single days.

Samantha: So help me. She f***s on my couch, she buys it.
Carrie: Isn't that how you got the couch from me?

Samantha (Watching an old friend strip at a party): Look at her: the poster girl for low self esteem.
Miranda: You know, I have low self esteem, but I express it the healthy way—by eating a box of Double Stuf Oreos.

Samantha: Frankly, I think it's sad, the way she's using a child to validate her existence.
Carrie: Exactly. Why can't she just use sex and a nice cocktail like the rest of us?

Miranda: Maybe it's maturity or the wisdom that comes with age, but the witch in Hansel and Gretel—she's very misunderstood. I mean, the woman builds her dream house and these brats come along and start eating it.

Carrie (Buying a pregnancy test): Which kind do I get?
Miranda: Here. This one's on sale: half-off.
Carrie: I just spent $395 on a pair of open-toed Guccis last week. This is not the place to be frugal

Miranda: So all I have to do to meet the ideal man is to give birth to him.

I felt so sorry for Charlotte in this episode..when Laney stole her baby name. I was glad when Sam stood up for her.

I love this episode! It's one of my favorites. I love when Sam looks at Laney and says, "You bitch!"

I really liked this episode .. but I so felt for Charlotte.. her high prized baby name was stolen .. poor thing

I love it when they all get into the car and then all look at each other because noone wants to drive.

Laney was so gross at the end trying to be very pregnant and stripping.

Poor Charlotte. Shayla is a cool name though.

I liked/disliked this episode. Then again, that's how I felt with most of season one. So ... it had it's moments ...

Word. Some things were very good. Some other aspects were a bit too rough around the edges.

I watched the episode ... again. Here are my thoughts.

The four girls in the car. That was funny. "Does anyone know how to drive?"

Charlotte's precious baby name, Shayla.
Samantha - I'm not having a baby, everybody drink!

The whole thing with the pregnant woman wanting to flash the crowd - that seemed a little too over-the-top.
The whole bit on "the couch" was funny.
Miranda - First Response. I had a refreshing moment with First Response.

It was an OK episode. A little over-the-top. Then again, that's S1 in a nutshell.

No.. not every Friday.. usually about every week and a half to two weeks. It takes a while for me to make caps and stuff so I usually leave it up for about that long.

I do have to agree with you about the pregnant lady wanting to take off her clothes being a bit much. I mean how could she even begin to think people would want to see her.

Well ... I could see why, with her being nostalgiac for the old days ... but it seemed a little too over-the-top.
