I'm kinda hoping that there will be some discussion about the SatC Movie that never was.

I wonder if all the cast members partcipated in it. I know that with these type of specials, not everyone agrees to be a part of it, which is a shame sometimes.

I, for one, was disappointed with the special. I felt that everything they had talked about, I already knew. I wished they hadn't spend so much time going over each of the actresses life prior to the series because that was boring and I was interested in it. All they seemed to do was take snippets of various interviews and soundbites and compile them into the show. There were no fresh interviews, with the exception of Michael Patrick King. I did find it interesting to see who was originally cast as Samantha. I don't think she would have worked as well as Kim Cattrall did in the role.

awww... I missed the show. I hope they show it again during the weekend.

I'm thinking that if you've only watched the series, no interviews and such, or you're new to the series, than the special may be worthwhile for you. I've read up on the series and watched a lot of interviews, so it was nothing new.

So, who was the original Samantha then? I'm dying to know, because it's apparently a fairly well-known actress but they wouldn't name her in the official guide.

Lonely Smile 05-31-2006 04:48 PM

Um ... all I remember is her first name was Lou ... I had never heard of her or seen her before.

That's interesting...it's hard to imagine anyone else as Samantha...or any of them being different for that matter. I missed the show, but am interested to see it still. What did it say about "the break up of the cast"? I never knew why or that it was between Kim and the rest, I only heard it being between Kim and SJP.

Lonely Smile 06-02-2006 11:11 PM

All they said was that Kim Cattrall wanted script approval and to be paid the same as SJP. Then too much time passed and all the sets were torn down and I think everyone just lost interest in making the movie.
