I totally agree Jenn, i think that when people see women in important leadership roles and they are good at their job they are considered to be on a 'power trip' i think that if you are a woman in a better job then a man working for you you are most likely going to be underminded. I think that men are raised to believe they should be more successful then women.

You would think that in 2007, it would have changed already It's really sad that men and women still can't be completely equal. Emily, you're right about women being underminded b/c they're often seen as making rash decisions based on emotions and what not, It's just so annoying the double standards that are still in play today

I'm a history major too

and while it's changed drastically compared to how it was, there are still people out there who don't think women should work, or while they think women should, they don't like to see them in management roles

Which is why I love my job sometimes, we're more girls than boys and the majority of the managers are women. It's rare but nice to see women ordering around

Which is why I hate my job, I am the only girl who works there (works being the key word) and any time I voice my opinion I get crap said from my boss. I really like one of the guys I work with, Bill, I babysit for him every once in a while and anytime he says something, I know he's joking around, but some of the comments from other people are just rude and sexist

Topic: Soul mates…reality or torture device?

Soul mate, two little words one big concept, a belief

okay thats one mother of a topic! but heres my take on soulmates, do they exist? yes. but in my opinion your soulmate isn't necessarily the love of your life, i think your soulmate could be your best friend or even a family member. I think women tend to fall in love and then you can easily become starry eyed and this person is your soulmate. I think soulmates go beyond love, its a bond that ties you to someone.

That one i dont think i can answer i'd like to believe that they could still be your soulmate and you are always meant to be in each others life, you have to admit its an interesting concept and what if you miss your one chance to meet your soulmate? does it mean you have missed out forever? or are your paths 'destined' to cross again?

new topic Do we need drama to make a relationship work? Okay so when Carrie was with Aidan she had a bit of a freak out about how smoothly things were going with them

So does the course of true love never ruin smoothly? Does it all seem too easy without drama? do relationships seem boring, so we create our own drama?

hmm...good question. I guess people get a little bit complacent when things are just running smoothly, like we're just waiting for the other shoe to drop or we see it as "the calm before the storm". I've noticed when things are going really good in any kind of relationship, I start to get antsy and sometimes look for the drama where it might not exist, or else I start to push away because there has to be something wrong so I guess I do believe that we need drama to make a relationship work. But not too much drama so that's all there is, I guess there should be a happy medium

does that make any sense?
