I like this couple, at first. Towards the end he was way to insecure to be with Carrie. They did not fit. I do however liked this couple way more than the Carrie/Russian pair.

I really liked these two in the beginning of the relationship, I wish they wouldn't have ruined it. I wouldn't want Carrie to end up with Berger in the long run, but I wish they would have handled the break up differently and allowed the two to be friends. However, the break up did make for an entertaining episode when Carrie got caught smoking pot .

I agree with you Ashley, they should have made it that they went their own seperate ways but still remained on good terms. And yeah Carrie getting caught with Pot was hilarious, and when she puts the post-it up against the window!

Carrie and the post it was hilarious, how she carried it around with her!

Yeah they didn't get a real chance, when he came back from their short 'break' i really thought they might make it, i couldn't believe it when he left the note, i totally didn't expect that

I know the first time my mom and me watched that, we were like "God That Jerk!!", but still i liked him at the beginning of their relatioship but then it seemed he was just jealous of her success. I was dissapointed coz i really liked them.

I felt the same way because there was alot of potential for them to work out until his jealousy issues came about

Yep, Berger was cute. I reckon he did take the whole scrunchie thing a bit too far but I'm gonna play Devil's advocate for a moment. He wrote a book where his "leading lady runs all over Manhattan wearing a scrunchie...a scrunchie?!?!" Obviously didn't do his research very well, however, how would I feel if it was my book? It's all done and dusted and something that may be a minor issue to many but is apparently very obvious to a member of my target audience and subsequently is blatantly highlighted. I'd feel disappointed - more so in myself than in the fact that someone had said it to me the way that Carrie had. I think a lot of Berger's issues were with himself, not Carrie. In a way, he used her as a yard stick and appeared to be constantly measuring his own abilities to hers. He felt immasculated and at times useless. She was getting on nicely and he was failing...no, "flailing". Gonna take my advocate's hat off now and tell it like it is. He needed to get over himself and was a jerk for the post-it thing. Come to think of it, he did a lot of annoying things. Good riddance to him. But yes...he was a bit cute though.

I definitly think he took the scrunchie thing to heart, If i had given someone a book I had written to read, I would be worried about alot worse, Carrie gave him alot of compliments on his writing style and then said something- it wasn't even criticism I took it up as playful banter!! I agree though he was comparing himself to Carrie alot especially when she recieved the pay check and he was unemployed.

Ron Livingston is a total cutie and i like him in alot of his other roles so it was weird not to really like his character

Yeah he was pretty tasty eye-candy. Perhaps Jack Berger would have been better as Mute Man or Selectively Mute Man because, truth be told, he did make some pretty witty comments. If it were me, I'd wait until he was ready to launch into his B/S and turn down his volume. I'd be like "Uh-oh, here come the issues" and hit his mute button. Then I'd just look at his pretty little face and be happy. I sometimes do it when I rewatch those episodes. If only we could do that to people in real life. Shallow? Never said I wasn't

So true Nikki, he was definitely good to gaze at and he did crack a good joke now and again. He just tended to have some bad moments like the first time they slept together awkward much!!?

Oh dear, I almost forgot about his lacklustre performance in the sack. Not just once but two times. Ooooh Carrie girl, you get a big gold star for your patience. I loved Samantha's line about doing it badly once being "shame on you but twice? Shame on me". And just for the record, if I had told his friends that he was bad in bed as Carrie had when she saw them in the club ironically named BED, I WOULD NOT have retracted the statement. On a post-it, for goodness sake?!?!

I love the idea of the mute button for berger. He did have some witty banter but the rest was pretty useless. Could definitely mute him for awhile and just bask in his cuteness.

Carrie should have known from the start that things would be bad when they weren't compatible in bed.

Absolutely. Maybe Carrie was being as shallow as we are. Perhaps she thought: "My man can't make love a damn...but he sure is fine." You know what would have made it a better experience? If Berger was built like Pepper Mill man (Bay of Married Pigs - Season 1) and had Ray the jazz man's "moves" (Season 4). Oooh wee! Beauty, brains, size and sex appeal in one mere mortal. All that's left to work on is Berger's issues but then I guess we need a causal factor for their split or else there would be no Carrie and Big in the end.
